A correct storage is very important to conserve the adhesive properties until the material is supplied to the end user and to avoid any loss of performance, change in rheological properties, or to avoid a possible decomposition of the material through an inappropriate storage. When investigating time parameters it was shown, that a storage time in Xe of spectral purity was 10 mcs, while a restoring time was 10 ms with subsequent decrease in the case of addition of small amounts of air (less than 1%). Different phenoHc resins are used for different types of wood for example, plywood adhesives contain alkaline-catalyzed Hquid resole resins. Extension with a filler reduces cost, minimizes absorption, and increases bond strength. These resins have an alkaline content of 5—7% and are low in free phenol and formaldehyde. Because many resins have a high water content and limited storage stabiHty, they are frequently made at or near the mill producing the plywood product. These instmments measure the response of a Hquid to sinusoidal oscillatory motion to determine dynamic viscosity as well as storage and loss moduH. The fluids spectrometer is designed for fairly low viscosity materials. The RMS-800 can carry out measurements under rotational shear, oscillatory shear, torsional motion, and tension compression, as well as normal stress measurements.
