The second method of preparation involves precipitation from a cold acidic solution of mercurous nitrate. Mercurous chloride is isolated after washing in a manner similar to the chamber method described. This product, which generally contains small amounts of occluded sodium nitrate, is satisfactory as a technical-grade material. Difficulty may be encountered in having it pass NF or reagent-grade specifications (see Fine chemicals). 

Gasoline. The naphtha fraction from cmde oil distillation is ultimately used to make gasoline. The two streams are isolated early in the refining scheme so that each can be refined separately for optimum blending in order to achieve the required specifications (see Gasoline and other motor fuels). 

The production plan referred to previously is a work instruction, as it instructs those to whom it applies to carry out certain tasks. Control procedures may include assembly procedures, plating procedures, painting procedures, maintenance procedures, etc. and differ from process specifications (see later) in that the process specification defines the results to be achieved in operating a process rather than how to run the process. In addition to the list of contents provided in ISO/TS 16949 clause 4.9.2, the documentation should define ... 

The standard provides a choice as to whether you define the inspections and tests required in a quality plan or in documented procedures. You may of course need to do both. As the quality system is often designed to accommodate all products and services you supply, it may not specify inspections and tests which are needed for particular products. This is one of the roles of the quality plan. Within such a plan you should identify the verification stages during product development, production, installation, and servicing as applicable. These stages will vary depending on the product, so your quality plan will be product, contract, or project specific (see Part 2 Chapter 2). There may...

The very low storage temperature and low operating temperature specifications (see Section 4.3 below) also required dedicated design features because many of the components, such as the pumps and processors, cannot operate at very low temperatures. Because of this limitation there were added to several components cold start heaters controlled by snap switches. Further, an industrial temperature grade microprocessor was used in the SDU. With the snap switches the cold start heaters can come on when the power is applied at less than about 32°F/0°C. The snap switches cut off the cold start heaters and apply power to the full CBMS II system once their setpoint temperature is reached.

Dopamine receptor blocking agents. Many of the neuroleptics used in the treatment of schizophrenia frequently produce parkinsonian symptoms as unwanted effects. Neuroleptics block dopamine receptors and their therapeutic effect seems to be related to this action. Although these drugs act on DA systems without distinction, some are more selective. Thioridazine, clozapine and molindone, for example, have electrophysiological effects in the limbic region of the brain but little action in the nigro-striatal area. This selectivity may be related to receptor subtype specificity (see Chs 12 and 54). 

Components can be designed to plug in to each other and in to frameworks. The plug-points are defined with action specifications (see Sections 1.9.2 and 1.9.3). 

Masking should also make the actions directional, with a definite initiator and receiver, so that they are more like messages. However, they may still encapsulate a dialog refined later. This approach enables us to summarize the component spec in the form of a type diagram with model and action specifications (see Figure 6.33). 

The justification associated with a refinement can be formal or informal it could even simply say, Joe said this will work. The verification techniques can be applied in varying degrees of rigor, from casual inspection to mathematical proof. In between, there is the more cost-effective option of making refinements the focus of design reviews and basing systematically defined test code on the specifications (see Figure 6.43).

The action of enzymes is usually very specific. This applies not only to the type of reaction being catalyzed (reaction specificity), but also to the nature of the reactants ( substrates ) that are involved (substrate specificity see p.94). In Fig. B, this is illustrated schematically using a bond-breaking enzyme as an example. Highly specific enzymes (type A, top) catalyze the cleavage of only one type of bond, and only when the structure of the substrate is the correct one. Other enzymes (type B, middle) have narrow reaction specificity, but broad substrate specificity. Type C enzymes (with low reaction specificity and low substrate specificity, bottom) are very rare.

This is a broad class of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of esters some of these enzymes are quite specific. See also Cholesteryl Ester Hydrolase specific esterase... 

Examples. In the following examples, the subscripts k, m,. ..represent different multiplicity of the monomeric units for different blocks. They may be indeterminate or specific (see Rule 5.3). In each case, the first line gives a representation of the block sequence arrangement, the second the corresponding name and the third an illustration of a specific case. 

Preproduction Samples. After award of contract but prior to entering quantity production, a preproduction sample shall be prepd for inspection and acceptance tests to determine conformance of the sample with the requirements of the specification (See 6.2)... 

Phospholipase C, which occurs in different subtypes in the cell, is a key enzyme of phosphatide inositol metabohsm (for cleavage specificity, see Fig. 5.24). Two central signaling pathways regulate phosphohpase C activity of the cell in a positive way (Fig. 6.4). Phospholipases of type CP (PL-CP) are activated by G-proteins and are thus linked into signal pathways starting from G-protein-coupled receptors. Phosphohpases of type Y (PL-Cy), in contrast, are activated by transmembrane receptors with intrinsic or associated tyrosine kinase activity (see Chapter 8, Chapter 10). The nature of the extracellular stimuli activated by the two major reaction pathways is very diverse (see Fig 6.4), which is why the phosphohpase C activity of the cell is subject to multiple regulation. 

We have chosen to discuss enzyme modification of proteins in terms of changes in various functional properties. Another approach might have been to consider specific substrates for protease action such as meat and milk, legumes and cereals, and the novel sources of food protein such as leaves and microorganisms ( ). Alternatively, the proteases themselves provide categories for discussion, among which are their source (animals, plants, microorganisms), their type (serine-, sulfhydryl-, and metalloenzymes), and their specificity (endo- and exopeptidases, aromatic, aliphatic, or basic residue bond specificity). See Yamamoto (2) for a review of proteolytic enzymes important to functionality. 

The samples will be inspected for all the requirements set foich in the detail specification (See above)... 

Work Specific. See Specific Work Uses. Pentryl was proposed for use as a base charge in detonators in lieu of tetryl or nitro-mannite, as well as for some other purposes either alone or mixed with other explosives. Addition of an oxidizing agent(such as K chlorate) to pentryl greatly enhances its strength and is recommended by Clark as of distinct economic advantage (Refs 3,4,5,8, 9,10 11)...
