Crude Oils and Connate Water. The multiple micellar slug process was developed for the tertiary recovery of three light oils viz. Bradford crude, Bonnie Glen crude and Provost crude. The viscosities and densities of the three crude oils used are listed in Table I. [Pg.352]

In the third country, roller compaction was substituted for the slugging process. While the sizing of the slugs and compacts were completed on different machines, and the particle size results were not exactly the same in each situation, the tablet content uniformity results were equivalent. Content uniformity relative standard deviations of 1.5-2.0% ( = 10 tablets) were routinely achieved. The tablet dissolution profiles averaged 95% or higher within 30 minutes in each country. [Pg.241]

A number of these attributes, best technology practices and features, were rated for their industrial and pharmaceutical importance and reported by Miller and Sheskey in 2001. Ultimately, today s roller compaction technology offers a continuous process with better process controls, manufacturing efficiencies, and environmental protection than an archaic slugging process technology. [Pg.3160]

The process is implemented as a slug process, often involving two different types of polyacrylamide polymer. In a typical application, a cationic polyacrylamide is first injected at a concentration of a few hundred ppm. The polymer is designed to adsorb onto... [Pg.51]

The hybrid injection scheme yielded a recovery of 1.2% OOIP less than the WAG injection, but 0.7 % OOIP more than the single-slug process. The oil recovery response was essentially identical to the single-slug injection. A study to determine the optimum size of the pre-WAG slug yielded a value of 5% HCPV. An economic analysis conducted in conjunction with the simulation results showed the hybrid process to be the most attractive of the three schemes. [Pg.78]

The amount of processing required in the field depends upon the composition of the gas and the temperature and pressure to which the gas will be exposed during transportation. The process engineer is trying to avoid liquid drop-out during transportation, since this may cause slugging, corrosion and possibly hydrate formation (refer to Section 10.1.3). For dry gases (refer to Section 5.2.2) the produced fluids are... [Pg.198]

Aluminum. The majority of aluminum containers are of monobloc (one-piece) constmction, impact extmded from a slug of lubricated aluminum alloy. These containers are widely used for many products and are available in a vast array of heights and diameters. Because these containers lend themselves to additional shaping, many unusual shapes can be found in the marketplace. They may also be coated after the extmsion process. [Pg.349]

Process effectiveness depends on maintaining an ultralow (ca 10 ° N/m (10 dynes/cm)) interfacial tension between the injected surfactant slug and the cmde oil (213). The effect of petroleum composition on oil solubilization by surfactants has been the subject of extensive study (214). [Pg.194]

These units cannot handle liquid slugs or dirt particles hence, they require gas/vapor cleaning before entering the unit. For units with cooling jackets and automatic temperature regulation of the process gas, the temperature can range as high as 302°F [20]. [Pg.395]

Pellets, slugs or flechettes made of U have very good powers of penetration. However, U is softer than steel so that in the process of penetrating an armored steel plate it is partially pulverized. Since in this form U is pyrophoric (self-igniting), such projectiles have an incendiary as well as a penetrating effect. According to one account of flechettes made of depleted U ... [Pg.980]

The first flow pattern zone corresponds to the isolated bubble (IB) regime where the bubble generation rate is much higher than the coalescence rate. It includes both bubbly flow and/or slug flows and is present up to the onset of coalescence process domination. The second zone is the coalescing bubble (CB) regime, which is... [Pg.47]
