Service difficulty reports

The finding that reduced maintenance did not lead to increased engine failure is also supported by Kanafani et al. (1989), who finds that maintenance expenditures are not a strong predictor of the rate of service difficulty reports... [Pg.16]

The July 2003 report on Government IT Projects [Pearce 2003] states that in the UK Over the past five years, high profile IT difficulties have affected the Child Support Agency, Passport Office, Criminal Records Bureau, Inland Revenue, National Air Traffic Services and the Department of Work and Pensions, among others. ... [Pg.144]

Customer visits. Especially by technical service personnel, but increasingly by directly involving R D staff with the customer. The danger with this information is that the customer is often only interested in the immediate problems not with what can be supplied some years down the line. The data needs to be sifted intelligently to sort out the local difficulties from what are inherent problems, amenable to R D work rather than standard technical support A prerequisite, for all personnel who make customer visits, is the need to produce well written visit reports, with the additional requirement to report on new product options. [Pg.226]

Although treatment of the rural population with DEC has been beneficial in controlling lymphatic filariasis in different parts of the tropics, its greater use is limited by logistic difficulties of delivery of health services. To circumvent these problems, it has been suggested to use DEC medicated salt Medicated salt with 0.1-0.5% DEC has been successfully used in China, Taiwan, Malaya, Brazil, East Africa, India, and some other regions of the tropics to control lymphatic filariasis as also to prevent the population from reinfection [7,78,82-87]. There was a marked reduction in mean microfilarial density. As so far no resistance to DEC has been reported, DEC medicated salt may prove to be a cheap and effective method to control filariasis in endemic areas [7]. [Pg.160]

Sales reports Service reports Questionnaires Interviews Assess perceived viability of product or system. Assess typical problems and impact of solutions attempted. Query large number of customers and users regarding experiences with product. In-depth querying of small number of customers and users regarding experiences with product. The ultimate, bottom-line measure of success. Associate problems with customers and users and enable follow-up. Large population can be inexpensively queried. Face-to-face contact allows in-depth and candid interchange. Information on lack of sales due to problems is likely to be too late to help. May be too late for major problems and may not explain cause. Low return rates and shallow nature of responses. Difficulty of gaining access, as well as time required to schedule and conduct. [Pg.1309]

As new campaigns began in early 1944, it became obvious that it was no longer possible to start from scratch. In order to keep supplies moving, the Sixth Army Chemical Section had to know what had been expended and what was on hand. Marriott and McKinney experienced considerable difficulty in obtaining expenditure and status reports from task forces in widely scattered locations. This failure was particularly frustrating since, at the expense of much effort, they had secured service detachments or at least junior officers to accompany those task forces without chemical sections. The primary duty of these detachments was flame thrower service, but the officers were also charged... [Pg.263]
