The N 300 series is characterized by a wide variety of rubber blacks, covering about 10 different types. ABSTRACT This paper addressed the impacts of environmental factors on the storage of semi-active records in the Sultanate of Oman. To this effect, the measurements of indoor environmental parameters were conducted in documents storage buildings of the Ministry of Manpower, and the Ministry of Municipalities and Water Resources. The recorded measurements were then compared with the available international standards/guidelines. The results indicated that most of the environmental factors inside these two buildings were found not within the stipulated standards. 

The results of the study showed that most of the environmental factors measured at the storages of semi-active record of the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Municipalities and Water Resources were not within the stipulated values defined in international standards. The indoor air quality of the two buildings was not suitable for protection and preservation of document collections. Therefore, some preventive measures must be taken to safeguard the documentary assets. The document collection of the two Ministries will be damaged if remedial measures were not taken timely.
