Calculation of condensate piping by two-phase flow techniques is recommended however, the tedious work per line can often be reduced by using empirical methods and charts. Some of the best are proprietary and not available for publication however, the Sarco method [42] has been used and found to be acceptable, provided no line less than VA" is used regardless of the chart reading. Under some circumstances, w hich are too random to properly describe, the Sarco method may give results too small by possibly a half pipe size. Therefore, latitude is recommended in selecting either the flow rates or the pipe size.

The sarco(endo)plasmic reticulum Ca -ATPases of mammalian tissues can be divided structurally into three main groups (SERCA 1-3) representing the products of different genes (Table I) [8,9,11,53-57]. 

A wide selection of monoclonal and polyclonal anti-Ca -ATPase antibodies have become available in recent years. Studies with these antibodies defined the localization of Ca " -ATPase in the sarcoplasmic reticulum of developing and mature skeletal muscles [60,262-270] and established a pattern of cross reactivity with various Ca -ATPase isoenzymes in the sarco(endo)plasmic reticulum [270-286] and in the plasma membrane [284,287-290] of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscles. Antibodies have also proved useful in the quantitation of Ca -ATPase, both in muscles of diverse fiber types [291-294] and in COS-1 cells transfected with Ca -ATPase cDNA [97,103,126,127,129,215],... 

Nucleic acid extraction protocols using guanidine hydrochloride, sodium sarco-syl, and ethanol have been developed to quantify viral RNA by bDNA in lymph node tissue, liver tissue, and peripheral blood monocytes (Wilber and Urdea, 1995).

MAHMA NONOate spontaneously dissociates in a pH-dependent, first-order process with a half-life of 1 min at 37 °C. In vivo, examination in anesthetised rats showed, that MAHMA NONOate had both platelet inhibitory and vasodepressor effects [50]. Like other NONOates, MAHMA NONOate inhibited collagen-induced and ADP-induced rat platelet aggregation in a concentration-dependent manner [51]. The ER takes up Ca2+ using a sarco(endo)plasmic reticulum ATPase (SERCA) pump (Figure 11.5), which has the same topology with 10 transmembrane domains and the same mechanism of action, with an aspartyl phosphate intermediate, as the PMCA pump described above.
