Safety management systems technical information

Technical information provides the foundation for most of the analyses and studies that comprise a Safety Management System. Such information includes P IDs, Layout Diagrams, and Drilling Plans. [Pg.35]

Figure 6.1, which is very much in line with the description of a safety case system already provided shows how the Management System, Technical Information, Emergency Response, and Performance Monitoring are fed into, and are also modified by, the overall Risk Management program. [Pg.205]

All three elements must be linked to one another. For example, the facility description will provide technical information that provides the basis of the formal safety assessment and the safety management system. Similarly, the safety management system will define what information should be included in the facility description. [Pg.250]

All safety management systems are rooted in accurate technical information that is easy to access, and that it also easy to modify (under the MOC program). [Pg.123]

A streamlined organizational chart that is consistent with the National Incident Management System (NIMS), which includes nine key positions incident commander public information officer safety officer liaison officer section chiefs for operations, fi-nance/administration, planning, and logistics and a medical/technical specialist. [Pg.140]

AIChE created the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) in 1985 after the chemical disasters in Mexico City, Mexico, and Bhopal, India. The CCPS is chartered to develop and disseminate technical information for use in the prevention of major chemical accidents. The center is supported by more than 100 chemical process industry sponsors that provide the necessary funding and professional guidance to its technical committees. The major product of CCPS activities has been a series of guidelines to assist those implementing various elements of a process safety and risk management system. This book is part of that series. [Pg.24]

Total smelter employment is approximately 280 hourly personnel among the various departments, including maintenance. The smelter s supervision and support staff includes accounting, payroll, purchasing, environmental technicians, safety and hygiene, medical, human resources, information systems, technical services, engineering, and management. In total, there are approximately 90 support staff personnel. [Pg.124]

The explosion causing the fatality was caused by water out of place in one of the melting furnaces. As this cause is the one most likely to cause fatalitities in this industry technical staff at the plant developed a water-monitoring-system for keeping water in the furnace area under surveillance. The safety authorities was later informed of the development of this system, but never responded positively on providing this system to the metal industry as a whole. Instead plant management have ensured the dissemination of this system to the industry themselves. [Pg.1228]

Technical infrastracture SWIM-TI (System Wide Information Management - Technical hdrastracture) interferes with the termination of the services rendered under the ATM systems supported hy SWIM solutions, ensuring their productivity and increasing efficiency and safety. S3istems that interact with SWIM cooperate with services specific to ATM systems, and their cooperation is supported by technical solutions offered by SWIM. [Pg.257]
