Hydrocarbon Resins. Dicyclopentadiene is widely used in both cmde and purified form as a monomer in hydrocarbon resin production (see Hydrocarbon resins). These resins, produced in both the United States and Europe, are polymerized from concentrated DCPD streams or from the previously mentioned resin oils. The DCPD-containing stream may be polymerized with Friedel-Crafts (qv) (53) catalysts either alone or in admixture with the resin oil (54—55), or with aUphatic olefins and diolefins (56) or by thermal polymerization (57—59).

A9-THC (2.1 in Fig. 2) is the only major psychoactive constituent of C. sativa. It is a pale yellow resinous oil and is sticky at room temperature. A9-THC is hpophihc and poorly soluble in water (3 p,g mL ), with a bitter taste but without smell. Furthermore it is sensitive to light and air [4]. Another specialty area is coil coating, which involves coating metal coils by continuous operation. Modern roller systems afford speeds of up to 200 m/min. Most coils are made of cold-rolled and surface treated steel, aluminum, or alloys of the latter with manganese or magnesium. Coating systems are based on alkyd or acrylic resins, oil-free polyester, silicone-modified polyester or acrylic resin, poly(vinylidene fluoride), or poly(vinyl fluoride). Water-reducible systems, mainly based on acrylic resins, have been developed for aluminum as well as for steel coils [21-24], Drying is carried out by continuous operation in gas- or oil-heated multichamber ovens.

Hexanone is not currently manufactured, processed, or used for commercial purposes in the United States (EPA 1987b). 2-Hexanone had been used as a solvent for many materials, primarily in the lacquer industry as a solvent for lacquers and varnish removers. It had also been used as a solvent for ink thinners, resins, oils, fats, and waxes. 2-Hexanone had also been used as an intermediate in the synthesis of organic chemicals (ACGIH 1986 HSDB 1989). 

The pump has stood for a long time containing contaminated or resinous oil.

More than half (57 %) of all seizure cases involved cannabis (herb, resin, oil, plants and seeds). Opiates (opium, morphine, heroin, synthetic opiates and poppy seeds), accounted for 17 per cent, with heroin alone accounting for 14 per cent of the total. This is followed by seizures of the amphetamine-type stimulants (12 %).
