Rapid setup

The Portable Unit arrived at the Times Beach Dioxin Research Facility on July 8, 1985, to demonstrate decontamination of the dioxin laden soil. The Unit was set up and made ready for operation within a few hours after arrival to the site. This rapid setup demonstrated its unique capability for mobility. The testing personnel followed a safety plan developed by the Missouri DNR which included pretest physical examinations, use of Class C safety clothing, and vital sign monitoring and rest periods for personnel. The weather was hot and humid which required the work in the trailer to be limited to 20 minutes at a time. [Pg.316]

The focus in development of the OPLS-UA model was on the non-bonded parameters, which historically had been the most problematic, and the new approach was to perform large numbers of Monte Carlo statistical mechanics simulations of pure liquids for their refinement. This advance was made possible by increases in computer resources and the development of flexible, efficient software, namely, the BOSS program and its predecessors, that allowed rapid setup of simulations for new systems. The dead-end setup is by far the easiest apparatus both in construction and use. Reactor and separation unit can be combined and only one pump is needed to pump in the feed. TIRF is an experimentally simple technique for selective excitation of fluorophores on or near a surface. It can be set up on a standard upright or inverted microscope, preferably but not necessarily with a laser source, or in a nonmicroscopic custom setup or commercial spectrofluorimeter.
