BPs are used not only in specialized cosmetic preparations for skin protection against the carcinogenic effect of UV radiation they are also added to pharmaceuticals and many everyday products such as body lotions, shampoos, bubble baths, and hair sprays. These compounds are used for the packaging of synthetic materials in order to extend the shelf life of stored products that could be affected by the influence of sunlight. Full-face masks of class 3 are designed for use by emergency teams, fire fighters, or rescue teams in mining operations. Class 2 masks are by far the most common full-face masks in use. Aramids have been developed from the need to enhance the chemical stability of polyamides. Because of the stability of aromatic rings, aramids also have higher tensile strength and thermal resistance than aliphatic polyamides. These qualities make aramids popular for use in impact resistance applications. However, aramids - along with PA - have low UV resistance. If a potential exists for skin exposure to UV lasers (200-400 mn), use skin covers and/or sunscreen. Most gloves will provide some protection against laser radiation.
