Publications and presentations

WebLab Viewer gives a very-high-quality display suitable for publication and presentation. Molecules can be displayed as lines, sticks, ball and stick, CPK, and polyhedrons. In addition, different atoms within the same structure may be displayed in different ways. Text can be added to the display as well as labeling parts of the structure in a variety of ways. The user has control over colors, radii, and display quality. The program can also replicate a unit cell to display a crystal structure. Several types of molecular surfaces can be displayed. 

This section is abstracted from the official AlChE publication, "SI for AlChE," prepared by the AlChE Metrication Committee in 1979. Units and symbols, prefixes, usage format and conversion factors are included. AlChE mandated that SI units be used in all publications and presentations. Such units are used exclusively in this Handbook. 

The chemistry of surface bonded compounds, being only a forming area of surface chemistry, has no fully accepted terminology. Terms and conceptions taken from the related areas are usually used. Sometimes this results in confusions and misunderstanding. Therefore, we suggest determination of the basic terms used in our previous publications and present paper.

While the minor contribution of B[a]P to the tumorige-nicity of CSC to mouse skin has been recognized since the mid-1950s (4353,4354), its presence in CSC has elicited continued interest since that time. Examination of the references to various smoke components reveals an interesting fact about B[a]P When all the cigarette smoke components are tabulated with regard to similar selection of references across the board, very few tobacco smoke components exceed B[a] P in the number of pertinent references available. Obviously, the smoke component discussed most in publications and presentations between the mid-1950s and 2005 was nicotine. Next was acetaldehyde, followed by B[a]P. 

We also wish to express our gratitude to those who, over the years, have provided us with much information on scientific publications and presentations. They include Frank G. Colby, Charles W. As a result of publication and presentation of research, science is a group activity, providing many opportunities for correcting errors. 

Besides the scientific progress made by introducing this system, as has been reported in publications " and presented at multiple chemical meetings, congresses, and conventions, the system proved to be a commercial success. The competitive market in the area of chemical information is the best test of the capabilities, usefulness, and acceptability of any software system. AutoNom was purchased by several hundred chemical institutions, including both universities and the major chemical and pharmaceutical companies, such as Ciba-Geigy, Merck, Hoechst-AG, BASF, Bayern-AG, Glaxo-Laboratories, Pfizer, Boots, and L Oreal, to name just a few. 

While time-temperature superposition generally works well for linear polymers, it does not work as well as is often claimed in publications and presentations. The shift factor is often determined by a curve-fitting procedure involving the entire data set. For example, Honerkamp and Weese [63] determined shift factors by assuming a polynomial form for the shift factor. When shift factors are determined by fitting entire data sets, one must keep in mind that the result is a compromise master curve, and when logarithmic scales are used, especially when the range of frequency or time is rather small, the data may seem to superpose well. However, a more careful analysis of the data often reveals that this is not the case.
