Properties 1346 INDEX

The CHI parameter approximates the percentage of organic modifier in the mobile phase for eluting the compounds and can be used for high-throughput determination of physicochemical properties (50-100 compounds per day). CHI is a system property index, and depends on the nature of the stationary phase and the organic modifier as well as the pH of the mobile phase for ionizable compounds. [Pg.342]

By defining a property index [( jLL/p,G)02(pL/pG)], Baroczy obtained a correlation for 2lo that was independent of pressure. He also observed that his correlation could be used with the gas-phase pressure drop, (API AL)G, by noting that... [Pg.225]

A plot of the two-phase multiplier ratio, 0, as a function of property index at one mass flux (Fig. 3.42)... [Pg.225]

It is noted that additional scales for the property index are shown in Figure 3.42 to correspond to liquid metals as well as water and Freon-22 at different temperatures, indicating the applicability of the correlation to other fluids. [Pg.225]

The greatest benefit of RACHEL S component extraction method is that a massive property index of the entire corporate database is created. Along with the atomic coordinates of each component, a wealth of chemical information characterizing each building block is stored. Data such as the size of the component, atom composition, connectivity, ring structure, and electrostatic charges are included. As such, a means of rapidly cross-referencing chemical components on demand is available. [Pg.203]

Log P and MR are considered thermodynamic descriptors, pR a combined thermodynamic and electronic index, and a an electronic property index, E is designed to account for steric effects. Corrections for non-additivity, based upon the chemical bonding topology, have been suggested and used. These include proximity, bond type, ring, and group shape correction features. (8-10)... [Pg.21]

Not all results agree this well. Before corrections are applied it is important to verify that peak positions and intensity-weighted ratios are repeatable. Also note that a particle property, index of refraction, was needed to transform an intensity-weighted size distribution into a mass- or number-weighted one. For monodisperse and narrow distributions this is not the case. For distributions where... [Pg.56]

The commonly-used dynamic mechanical instruments measure the deformation of a material in response to vibrational forces. The dynamic modulus, the loss modulus, and a mechanical damping or internal friction are determined from these measurements. The modulus indicates stiffness of material, and it may be a shear, a tensile, or a flexile modulus, depending upon the experimental equipment. The mechanical damping (internal friction) gives the amount of energy dissipated as heat during the deformation. The internal friction of material is important, not only as a property index, but also for environmental and industrial application. [Pg.81]

This 160 page monograph presents thermodynamic data for materials which are chemical mixtures, polymers, composite materials, solid wastes, and substances not easily identifiable by a single stoichiometric formula. The thermodynamic properties given are heats of reaction and transitions, heat capacities and heat contents, and vapor and sublimation pressures. Included is a material name and property index which covers approximately 600 materials, many of which are of biological Interest, and including data on animals. [Pg.753]

Landolt-Bdrnstein Substance/Property Index http //lb.chanie.uni-hamburg.de/ The Landolt-Bornstein Substance/Property Index has both a keyword Search and browsable Indices (Molecular Formula, Elonent System, CAS-RN, Chonical Name, and Zeolite) for compounds with data in the New Series volumes. The Indices entries link to compound desaip-tions (including structure diagrams, chemical names/synonyms), European Regulations and Landolt-Bomstein Citations/References. A physical property listing of the indexed volumes is also provided. [Pg.118]
