Production strategies

Sedimentary rocks from oil reservoirs exhibit significant porosity where crude oils and water often coexist to share the pore space. The characterization of the pore structure and the fluids in situ is essential in the development of oilfields and specifically in the design of the production strategy and the facility. NMR has become an increasingly important well-logging and laboratory technique to quantify rock and fluid properties. 2D NMR has recently been introduced to the petroleum industry as a commercial well-logging service [58]. We will first review a few examples of the 2D NMR experiments on the sedimentary rocks in laboratory and well-logging applications. [Pg.172]

Figure 13.5 Outline of the production strategy of CEA-SCAN. The antibody-producing hybridoma cell line was originally obtained by standard methods of hybridoma generation. Spleen-derived murine B-lymphocytes were fused with murine myeloma calls. The resulting stable hybridomas were screened for the production of anti-CEA monoclonals. The clone chosen produces an IgG anti-CEA antibody. Note that the finished product outlined above is not radiolabelled. The freeze-dried antibody preparation (which has a shelf life of 2 years at 2-8 °C) is reconstituted immediately prior to its medical use. The reconstituting solution contains 99mTc, and is formulated to facilitate direct conjugation of the radiolabel to the antibody fragment... Even if only one product is considered, there is some need for the optimization of the production strategy, as the following simple example shows. In this example we compare two products that only differ in their order pattern. [Pg.124]

As the service level depends on the production capacity and the production strategy, it is obvious that both should be optimized. This means first to choose the optimal capacities for the production lines and the buffers (warehouses, tanks, silos) when planning a new factory or an extension. [Pg.126]

Once a production system is given, the optimal operational production strategy defines in which sequence the products should be produced next and in which quantities. [Pg.126]

A very productive strategy for the synthesis of glass-forming materials is the use of highly branched rigid structures. As a suitable center for starburst molecules with a threefold symmetry, triarylamine or benzene are used most frequently. Due to the large number of starburst molecules described in the literature, we divide this class into two subgroups, compounds based on the triarylamine and the benzene centers. [Pg.111]

Lack of Integration between Forecasts and Product Strategies... [Pg.625]

The practice of brand plan development and its NCE forecast component is designed to leverage knowledge from a cross-functional team, and in a certain sense it does. But because the traditional forecasting process is fundamentally disconnected from the operational realities of the disease marketplace, the marketer/brand manager lacks a tool to quantitatively analyze the effects of the product strategies developed. In other words. [Pg.625]

The PVC discussion as a driving force for innovation affected in particular consumer-close products. Alternative materials did not gain the upper hand for any of the mass products, however PVC-free as a product strategy was considered and partly implemented at least for many automotive manufacturers as well as for packaging, even if public marketing (e.g. by means of a label) was considered to be problematic from a legal aspect ". [Pg.72]
