Tests should also be carried out for sediment if the naphtha has been subjected to events (such as oxidation) that could lead to sediment formation and instability of the naphtha and resulting products. Test methods are available for the determination of sediment by extraction (ASTM D473, IP 285) or by membrane filtration (ASTM D4807 IP 286) and the determination of simultaneously sediment with water by centrifugation (ASTM D96, D1796, D2709, D4007 IP 373, 374). [Pg.265]

Product tests, methods and specifications Audit of the data submitted for CDER review in the application is a Field responsibility. CDER is responsible for the scientific review of the associated data and for the ultimate approval of the tests, methods, and specifications established for the drug product in the application. The Field will advise the center when it finds a questionable specification. [Pg.30]

Monitor ability Products not intended for consumer use should be clearly marked (e.g., for professional use only ). If the authorisation includes products for consumer or professional use, reference to product test methods and at least one supplier source of pure material for product testing should be provided unless the ban is set at detection limit values. [Pg.400]

The individual observations in sequential order are compared with control limits established from a past measurement to generate the control chart in the initial case. If the mean value x and standard deviation a of a constant quantity have been established from 15 to 30 measurements, these quantities may be regarded as valid estimates of x and action limits and these limits are usually set, and are based on the sensitivity and importance of the measurements. Special attention should be paid to one-sided deviations from control limits, because systematic errors cause deviation in one direction and may indicate an abnormally wide scatter. Therefore laboratories, production, test methods, or operator can be checked for consistency of measured results. [Pg.99]

Hardwood plywood products are decorative in nature and are designed for interior use. Over 95X of all hardwood plywood is made with urea-formaldehyde adhesives. Responding to concerns about formaldehyde and certain wood products, test methods for measuring surface emissions were developed in the early 1980 s. Emissions from most hardwood plywood and particleboard products have decreased 65% to 95% in recent years primarily by use of low emitting UF adhesives and/or scavengers. Good correlation has been demonstrated between product test methods and indoor levels of formaldehyde in experimental manufactured homes. Decorative surface finishes can act to either increase or decrease surface emissions, depending on the nature of the finish and the substrate. [Pg.17]

Generally, test methods that should be observed are prescribed in standards such as ASTM D6751 or EN14214. However, in many cases, other test methods, usually developed by professional organizations, may be simpler, less expensive, and more suitable for process development. For example, since biodiesel is an oleochemical product, test methods developed by organizations, such as the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS), are often well-suited, while ASTM methods were often developed specifically for petrodiesel. [Pg.521]

Method validation is covered in the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) under section 211.165(e) which indicates that The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility of tests methods. .. shall be established and documented . Such validation and documentation may be accomplished in accordance with 211.194(a) (2) which includes the need to indicate the location of data that establish that the methods used in the testing of the sample meet proper standards of accuracy and reliability as applied to the product tested . Methods included in recognized standard references such as the current USP/NF are understood to be validated. The suitability of all testing methods used shall be verified under actual conditions of use (211.194). For new products for which methods are developed, analytical method validation as described in this chapter will be necessary for methods already included in the USP, method verification will suffice. [Pg.164]

Until the early 1990s, nearly all products were laid out in what is now referred to as the conventional layout. In this layout, which is still used for most products, individual test plots (ground boards and concrete slabs) are separated in a grid on 1.5-m centers. Each of ten replications contains a mixture of rates, products, test methods and control plots arranged in a randomized block design (Figure 4). Replications are laid out in two tiers of five replications per tier. The conventional layout utilizes about 0.08 ha. [Pg.185]
