Conventionally, these five processes are grouped into three different plants. The chlor-alkali plant stands alone, as does the PVC polymerisation plant. In considering the overall costs or profits in a plant operation, one of the factors that has an important effect on the economic results is the fraction of total available time during which the plant is in operation. If the plant stands idle or operates at low capacity, certain costs, such as those for raw materials and labor, are reduced, but costs for depreciation and maintenance continue at essentially the same rate even though the plant is not in full use. 

CO2 concentrations in the air can vary over a wide range within different plant communities. For a corn crop exposed to a low wind speed (below 0.3 m s-1 at the top of the canopy), for a rapidly growing plant community, or for other dense vegetation where the eddy diffusion coefficient may be relatively small, the CO2 mole fraction in the turbulent air within the plant stand can be 200 pmol mol-1 during a sunny day. On the other hand, for sparse desert vegetation, especially on windy or overcast days, generally does not decrease even 2 pmol mol-1 from the value at the top of the canopy.

Scheffer and Wilson (1987) treated cauliflower seeds with Mo and seedlings with Mo seed treatment and foliar spray prior to transplanting them into field plots and found that curd yields increased by as much as 35% and 50%, respectively. They found that seed application of Mo at more than 117 g ha" caused toxicities, as demonstrated by reduced establishment of plant stands. The Mo concentrations in deficient seedling plants ranged from 0.09 to 0.20mgkgr . Earlier, Mulder (1954) had reported the responses of cauliflower to Mo addition in terms of failure to develop a heart or the extent of heart development. In the control groups in seven experiments, 50-100% of cauliflower plants developed no heart. In every experiment, application of Mo decreased the number of plants that developed no heart and also increased the sizes of the hearts. 

The economic losses in agricultural production worldwide are attributed to pests and pathogens that cause destructive diseases, thereby affecting seedling stands and yield [22]. Therefore, ensuring the quality of the seed will in turn protect the seedlings and plant stand from such adversaries. Seed treatment with various chemicals and with advanced technology has enabled the minimization of pests and diseases and as a result, the economic losses [23].
