Picker X-Ray

In addition to Federal Government (U. S. Atomic Energy Commission, U. S. Army, Bureau of Mines, Bureau of Standards, etc.) requirements, several companies, including the American Novawood Corp., American Nuclear Corp., Gamma Process Co., General Electric Co., Lockheed Aircraft Corp., Nuclear Materials and Equipment Corp., Picker X-Ray Corp., and U. S. Nuclear Corp., and the Japanese and Canadian governments have... [Pg.117]

Infrared spectra were recorded on a Nicolet 20 DX FTIR spectrometer, and glass transition temperatures were obtained on a Perkin Elmer DSC-4 differential scanning calorimeter. Radiographic measurements were carried out with a Picker X-ray unit operating at 90 kV and 6 mA using cylindrical polymer specimens of known thickness. Radiopacities were compared with that of an aluminum stepwedge with 1 mm steps. Experimental details have been published elsewhere [9]. [Pg.280]

Don Green, who had contributed greatly to the success of the early teletherapy program, left CPD in 1953. He subsequently joined Picker X-Ray, giving this competitor of CPD s one of cobalt-60 teletherapy s pioneers, in addition to its patent on Harold Johns machine. [Pg.235]

Etrington would later claim that Picker X-Ray had a slush fund for this purpose and that CPD could not compete against it in Quebec. (Robins interview with Errington Bothwell interviews with Errington). [Pg.235]

The availability of integrated circuits paved the way for the next generation ofX-ray inspection system. These units featured a side-shooting fan beam of X-rays incident on an extended array of scintillators optically coupled to photodiodes or phototransistors. The resulting low-level electric currents were then amphfied, integrated, and electronically sampled and digitized. Such systems were under development by ScanRay and Picker in 1977. By 1979, Picker was marketing... [Pg.104]

High temperature x-ray diffraction was done with selected samples using a Tem-Pres model SX diffractometer furnace on a Picker model 3488E diffractometer using filtered Cu radiation. High temperature runs were conducted with samples in a continuously replenished air atmosphere of 7.9 and 740 torr PH2 o. [Pg.194]

The structure of etodolac has been established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis [9]. Crystals of racemic etodolac were obtained by recrystallization from benzene-petroleum ether. A small brick shaped sample having approximate dimensions 0.2 x 0.2 x 0.3 mm was used for collecting three dimensional intensity data on a computer-controlled Picker FACS-I four circle diffractometer with a graphite monochromator. [Pg.114]

The x-ray diffraction patterns were made with a Picker diffractometer, using Ni-filtered CuK radiation and glass-slide mounts. To derive accurate unit cell constants, slow-scan x-ray patterns were internally standardized with NaCl, KC1, or Si. The integrated intensities were obtained by measuring the area under each peak with a planimeter. [Pg.29]

X-Ray M urements. Diffraction data were collected at room temperature (24.5 1.5 ) on a Picker automatic four-circle diffractometer using Mo Ko radiation (X 0.7107 A). Accurate cell dimensions were obtained by measuring the 20 ai e for the Mo Koj peak for the highest angle reflection observable along each of the principal axes. Tlie c axis was oriented along . [Pg.137]

X-Ray Measurements. A Picker automatic four-circle diffractometer, equipped with a hne focus Mo anode tube, used for data collection. Twelve high-angle reflections (using Mo Koc, ( = 0.709261 A) radiation, at a take-off angle of 2 j were used for a least-squares refinement of the cell parameters. Data were collected and treated as described in a recent article.Three standard reflections 040,080, and 600 were monitored every 200 reflections and showed no decay in intensity during the course of data collection. [Pg.333]

Single-crystal x-ray studies of the contact-ion pair complexes shown in Table II have been completed. The data were measured with a Picker automated diffractometer, and the structures were solved by direct methods. Hydrogen atom positions were included in all the structures but usually not refined. Refinements of the structures were made using a full-matrix, least-squares technique with neutral-atom scattering factors. [Pg.69]
