Trichlorophenol may be released to the environment through its production, use as a pesticide and pesticide intermediate, and use of pesticides in which it is an impurity (i.e. Silvex and 2,4,5-T). Case company B was founded in 2003, and its headquarters are located in Jiangxi province in Southern China. It was a Sino-foreign joint venture specialising in the manufacturing of fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediate, pesticide intermediate and dye intermediate.
