Partnership issues examples

There are early warning signs that the partnership between the sponsor and vendor may be changing. A continued inability to meet deadlines, incomplete reports to the sponsor, and modification of the financial terms in the favor of cash flow to the vendor without increased services to the sponsor are examples of such warning signs. When dealt with quickly, these issues generally do not recur. If left to fate, they can destroy the partnership and put projects in jeopardy. 

Community service organizations can play a direct role in providing specific health indicator data that would contribute to a syndromic surveillance system. Worksite absenteeism or patterns of health care behavior among clients are examples of potential indicators, but issues related to the confidentiality of such information under HIPAA have yet to be fully addressed. Even if no formal surveillance partnership to provide data exists, community service organizations should still consider themselves as stakeholders in the overall community response plans for biological events. They should also publicize the emergency public health contact information within their organizations. Table 20.3 lists several specific actions that community service... 

Corporate culture issues also appear to have played a part in the increased risk associated with some new entrants to the airline industry for example, Gray (1987, pg. 34) stated that Many new carriers have little notion of or experience in how an airline must be run. By contrast, corporate culture issues did not appear to pose as much risk in the new spin-off railroads established after rail industry deregulation, in part because they were largely staffed by experienced personnel from the larger railroads. In addition, because of intercormections between the new short-line railroads and the major rail carriers, the smaller railroads were generally required to meet certain minimal levels of safety performance. Similarly, the recent trend toward partnerships between the commuter air carriers and the major airlines may be associated with a reduction in the average risk of the commuter carriers. 

Clark and Wheelwright described types A through D. Type E is our addition to recognize the "partnership" project, which can produce its own set of issues. The table recognizes that any particular project can vary in terms of the product and process change involved. For example, an A-type project involves minor changes in both product and process dimensions. Type A products are like Rhino s releases or new menu items at Au Bon Pain. Changes of the A type could be either product- or process-directed, or both. 

The partnership type described is the "Jointly Owned Nuclear Operating Company" or JNOC. In JNOCs, "coequal" partners form a partnership entity to manage operations and maintenance activities for several nuclear power plants. Using our vocabulary from Chapter 16, this is an example of a one-to-one, horizontal partnership combination. This chapter raises issues regarding top management and fxmctional support addressed in Chapters 11 and 12. It also addresses the problems of cost documentation and savings sharing covered in Chapter 25. 

This chapter seeks to characterize and define best practices of family involvement in expanded school mental health programs. Barriers to care and strategies for the development of a framework for integrating families into their children s care will be presented. The chapter addresses unique aspects of family involvement within a school-based mental health program, presents model examples of family involvement, and describes training issues for clinicians and for successful partnerships. Finally, we explore future directions for the field and make recommendations for next steps.
