Warning sign

Such warning signs should be put in prominent places where the client is reminded of them. This can include places at home, like on the refrigerator, favorite chair, bedside table, or television cabinet. It also may include places like at work (discrete places, of course), in the car, or other places frequented by the client. The point is to have the warning signs placed in an area that reminds the client to be aware of risky situations, and to be constantly reminded of alternative ways to respond if those situations arise.

Unlike many chemical hazards, radiological hazards can be easy to detect with highly sensitive, direct reading instruments. Radiological control personnel conduct surveys and post warning signs. 

The bench where decontamination took place was only a few feet from the thermal unit and was not isolated from exclusion zone activities employees moved freely between their work stations in the exclusion zone and the decontamination bench. In addition, the subcontractor did not conduct monitoring activities to support work zone designations. Neither Site K contractor used warning signs to delineate exclusion zones, as required by their respective health and safety plans. 

The harmful effects of industrial emissions are not confined to the workers but extend beyond the plant boundary line. Chemically-induced diseases among workers exposed to industrial chemicals are a warning sign of the risks to which a larger population is also being exposed usually the chemical hazards are in principle similar in the occupational and general environment. However, occasionally environmental exposures can be qualitatively different from the occupational environment and may also cause deleterious health effects in the general population. 

Insulation for personnel safety is required only when accidental contact of the hot surfaces could be made by personnel within normal work or walk areas. Isolation may be in the form of guards or barriers and, in special cases, warning signs. 

The explosion was due to a failure to heed warning signs. The high pressure in the reactor was an early warning, but the operator had another theory to explain it. He stuck to this theory until the evidence against it was overwhelming. This is known as a mind-set or tunnel vision.

All appropriate warning signs must comply with the Safety Signs Regulations 1980 and must be displayed prior to commencement and for the duration of the work to be carried out (see BS 5378). Additionally, comparison of MU water usage and steam production with chemical treatment supplied, fuel consumption records, and flue gas analysis will provides early warning signs of deposit formation. Water analysis records can indicate problems of process contamination, BW carryover, and inadequate oxygen scavenging (and therefore the potential for corrosion). 

Masseter muscle spasm, which sometimes is a warning sign of MH, was found in 1 12,000 anesthetics. However, masseter muscle spasm is not diagnostic of an impending MH crisis. Even though approximately 50% of patients with masseter muscle spasm have tested positive for MH by muscle biopsy, this does not reflect the true incidence of MH. Incidence of masseter spasm is reported to be as high as 1% in pediatric patients, yet MH occurs in only about one in 15,000 pediatric patients. 

It is important to keep the amount of potentially hazardous waste in the laboratory to a minimum at all times. Periodically, contents of the laboratory waste containers will be transferred to appropriate containers for final disposal. These must be stored in a safe location, often outdoors, while awaiting pick-up by a disposal service. There will be local restrictions for such storage. A locked storage area may be needed, for example, to prevent unauthorized access to hazardous materials. The fire department niiay set strict limits as to how much flammable material may be present. All containers must be marked with contents, and the storage area will no doubt require warning signs. 

Work areas were laid out in such a way that flammables would not be handled near either door. Upon arrival, cartons containing samples or supplies went where they would not interfere with traffic. Approved warning signs were posted where needed.
