Parallel testing

GOST 30415 specifies plans for inspection the products of different types and sets formulae for calculation of inspected numbers while applying magnetic inspection. The procedure of random inspection is predetermined to check the authenticity of the correlated relation usage and regulations are introduced to enter data file of non-destructive and parallel tests. [Pg.26]

Vehicle tests are considered the ultimate in friction material evaluation, but to be accurate these tests must be carefully designed to eliminate variations caused by changing conditions. ControUed-temperature tests and parallel-test controlled vehicles normally perform the function satisfactorily but at increased cost. [Pg.275]

In the near future probably computer modelling, allowing the analysis of adsorption and elementary reactions at surfaces, will become increasingly helpful in catalyst selection. On the experimental side the field is changing drastically. Parallel testing equipment is now the state of the art. This field is often referred to as Combinatorial Chemistry . It is expected to have a large impact already in the near future. In fact, at present already companies have been formed in this field. [Pg.93]

In a parallel test with water instead of disinfectant the colony forming units (cfu) of surviving bacteria are determined and the reduction in viable counts is calculated. [Pg.100]

We found, however, that even highly concentrated lithium (9M) or sodium (3M) solutions did not reduce coal in a manner that increased its hydroxyl content and in parallel tests, 100% unreacted p-phenoxy phenol was always recovered from the lithium solutions ... [Pg.105]

Substitution of Si by Ge has no obvious effect on reduction but is clearly accompanied by easier oxidation. The oxidation reaction was not identified. In the silane series, values of reduction Ep are linear with Hammett a constants for substituents on the aryl ring. No parallel test on germanes has been reported. [Pg.686]

In order to achieve results with close-to-conventional testing conditions, the parallel reactor setup for liquid-phase reaction must mimic the real process conditions of the later process as nicely as possible. The main efforts to be realized lie in the miniaturization and integrated construction of the parallel testing setup and the automation of process control combined with suitable online and offline analytical methodologies. [Pg.418]

Needs for the Future. One significant need in the area of ocular alternatives is for the validation of current in vitro assays. The key point is that users of the assay(s) need to have confidence in their ability to interpret and reliably use the data generated. This confidence level can only be achieved by parallel testing in one s own laboratory with compounds similar to those likely to be evaluated as unknowns. The validation process will be a long, somewhat tedious project, but will be necessary before in vitro alternatives can be used responsibly... [Pg.667]

Although toxicity was observed at 20 mg/kg, good dose responses were observed in the dose range 2.5-10.0 mg/kg. At the highest dose, test/con-trol values in excess of 300% were consistently observed with five cures in one instance and four cures in another. In a parallel test, vinblastine (1) showed TIC 309% at 0.5 mg/kg with five survivors. According to these data leurosine A b-oxide is one of the most active compounds in the B16 test system isolated thus far. [Pg.19]

It was realized also that the carbon tetrachloride in the aerosol might in itself be a factor in the insect mortality which resulted. Therefore parallel tests were run in several instances in which carbon tetrachloride was omitted, and it was concluded that in the mixtures DDT was the principal toxic ingredient, at least when dispersed as a thermal aerosol. [Pg.63]

Parallel tests were carried out to find the relation between Young s modulus and sintering temperature and binder content of product (Fig. 9.9). [Pg.139]

A high-throughput research tool is any chemical or biological tool set that allows rapid parallel testing of multiple system parameters in a systematic approach. In this instance the author is referring to experimental systems, but these tools can also include computational approaches. [Pg.9]

For specific purposes, parallel testing with two different techniques helps to reveal systematic over/underestimation of certain compounds (Salthammer and Mentese, 2008). [Pg.12]

The basic challenges for parallel test reactor development for high-throughput experimentation are, apart from technological challenges, related to technical demands that arise with the special issues for parallel test reactors, which are identical with the demands for conventional test reactors for gas-phase reactions. The criteria that must be fulfilled to obtain intrinsic catalyst properties from experimental data relate mainly to mass and heat transfer. A sufficient contact between the reactants and the catalyst must be insured to avoid mass transfer limitations inside and outside of the catalyst particles. Isothermal operation under laboratory conditions and avoidance of heat transfer limitations are also crucial. As a general quality check prior to operation intra- and extra-particle limitations should be... [Pg.20]

Pros Parallel testing has been rather widely described for decades, long before the appearance of the combinatorial strategy [26]. Therefore, even if the technology remains essentially home-made at the academic level, as stressed above, a rather satisfactory control of performances has been demonstrated simply by reproducibility tests or testing the same catalysts in all the channels of the reactor. [Pg.253]

Obviously, it will be necessary to eliminate those samples that generally inhibit transcription or luciferase activity (for example, by running a parallel test where the luciferase encoding gene is placed under the control of a housekeeping promoter). [Pg.278]

Special Starch Use starch designated as Starch (Lintner) Soluble (Baker Analyzed Reagent, Catalog No. 4010). Before using new batches, test them in parallel with previous lots known to be satisfactory. Variations of more than 3° diastatic power in the averages of a series of parallel tests indicate an unsuitable batch. [Pg.900]

It is preferable to use iso-amyl alcohol because the odour of the resulting iso-amyl acetate is more readily distinguished from the alcohol itself than is the case with ethanol. It is as well to run a parallel test with a known acetate and to compare the odours of the two products. [Pg.366]

One of the cationic surfactants was evaluated In a commercial alkylation unit at the Baytown refinery. A parallel test was conducted In which two reactors received the same feed and fresh acid. Figure 19. The modifier was injected into an acid recycle line on reactor 8, to rapidly bring its concentration to working strength and then the rate was lowered to maintain the concentration. After 11 days the additive concentration was doubled and after 19 days its addition was switched from reactor 8 to reactor... [Pg.22]

Such a situation offers both benefits and challenges. Parallel testing, i.e., the running of two systems in parallel and comparing the outputs, offers the opportunity of increasing the level of confidence that the system meets all expectations and user requirements. However, at some point, cut-over to sole operation of the new or modified database will have to be achieved. A crucial consideration here is the assurance that all records from the previous system (be they manual, from a different database, or from a smaller version of the new database) are available for further processing, inspection, and manipulation, and most importantly, have had their data integrity preserved. This is usually achieved by validation of the process used to transfer the data into the new system. [Pg.929]

Parallel tests carried out with ozone and activated carbon quickly demonstrated the undeniable superiority of ozone from all points of view. It was possible to transform this polluted Rhine water into excellent, crystal-clear drinking water by means of relatively small ozone dosages (0.7 to 1.0 gram per cubic meter of water). A series of promising tests has been undertaken with this pilot plant at Ludwigshaven am Rhein, Krefeld, Duisberg, and elsewhere. [Pg.465]

Parallelism. The parallelism experiment is used to determine whether an assay s accuracy depends on the analyte concentration in the sample used. This characteristic is tested by diluting a standard sample, and determining whether results agree after correction for the dilution. Alternatively, results can be plotted against expected values, ideally to yield a straight (flat) line in which the concentration is independent of the dilution factor. The diluent must be carefully selected to ensure a consistent matrix among the dilutions. Failure of the parallelism test may indicate extreme sensitivity of the assay to matrix composition, lack of sensitivity at the extremes of the standard curve or inaccurate standards. [Pg.333]
