Use pattern Hexythiazox is a thiazolidinone acaricide which has ovicidal, larvicidal and nymphicidal activities against many kinds of phytophagous mites infesting pome fruits, stone fruits, citrus, vegetables and other food crops. On these mites, hexythiazox works by both contact and stomach action... [Pg.1316]

Optimization of biological properties in a series of miticidal and mite ovicidal 2-aryl-l,3-cycloalkanediones, Ia,b, and enol esters, II, was achieved through analog synthesis and testing supported by the development of quantitative structure/ activity trends during the course of the project. QSAR equations developed during an initial phase provided the basis for both... [Pg.321]

Neem extracts, pure constituents (i.e. azadirachtin) and formulated products showed positive results against Tetranichus mites [279-283]. Less polar extracts were considerably more toxic than polar ones or cold-pressed neem oil or commercial neem oil, and reduced the fecundity of the mites on treated plants and the survival of nymphs hatched from treated eggs application of pentane extract or neem oil in sublethal concentrations, caused growth disrupting effects on the nymphal stages and ovicidal effects. Quantification of the insecticidal substance azadirachtin in the extracts revealed that this compound was not the most active principle against the mites [284]. [Pg.433]

Contact Acaricide with good knockdown activity on motile foms as well as true ovicidal activity. Preventing eclosion of mite eggs... [Pg.1905]

The procedures for examining the effects of formamidines on twospotted spider mite reproduction were similar to those for dispersal mentioned above with the following exception. After the treated leaflets had dripped dry, the surviving mites were transferred to untreated leaf discs. This initial transfer was made to minimize potential residual activity and to ensure that formamidine effects on reproduction were due to the treatment applied to the adult female mites. Under these conditions, there should be little, if any, direct ovicidal action or mortality of... [Pg.182]

The mite ovicidal activity of ortho-halogen phenyl substituted tetrazines was discovered at Chesterford Park Research Station in 1976. In contrast to the inactive unsubstituted bis-phenyl derivative (entry 1, Table 26.2.1) the introduction of the 2-chloro-phenyl residue on one side of the tetrazine leads to an interesting ovici-... [Pg.825]

Hexythiazox shows a broad acaricidal spectrum against different mites such as Tetranychus spp. and Panonychus spp. with LC50S between 0.2 and 1.1 ppm (Fig. 26.2.2) [20]. It has ovicidal and larvicidal activity but it is poor against adult mites (LC50 > 500 ppm). [Pg.834]

In the course of development research of fungicidal heterocyclic compounds, we found acaricidal activity among N-substituted carboxamide derivatives of some 5-membered heterocyclic compounds. In order to inquire into their activity, we synthesized and tested various skeletal compounds. We found that N-cyclohexyl-4,5-disubstituted thiazolidinone carboxamides have very high ovicidal and larvicidal activity against spider mites both in Panonychus and Tetranychus species (2-3). After development research for optimization, hexythiazox was selected as one of the representative compounds and introduced into the market in 1985. It is now widely used for the control of spider mites in fruits and vegetables in Europe and North America as well as in Japan. [Pg.341]
