Mobile Studio (MS) Lab 4— Thevenin Equivalent Orcuit and Max Power Transfer 1. Mobile Studio and Instrumentation Board 

MS is a technology-based new learning tool comprising a tablet PC (or any PC) and an instrumentation board, which replaces most of the lab equipment. Therefore, MS allows for small foot -print, mobile laboratory experiments any place any time. The measurement by MS is possible by Windows-based software, Mobile Studio Desktop, which is already installed in the tablet PCs. The icon for the Mobile Studio Desktop is illustrated below.

Online Course (MOOC), through independent selection by the student or based on recommendations by the course instructor. Effective MOOC can become a part of the course through introducing a suitable assessment tool. This delivery method develops the ability of the student to engage in independent learning, and hence addresses GA12. 

The majority of the material for this chapter was taken from a course developed for an online master s degree program in safety, security, and emergency management at Eastern Kentucky University (SSE 890 Business Continuity). 

AClDplanet is an online community developed and run by Sonic Foundry to promote ACID. It offers a place where users can exchange ideas and inspiration and, of course, publish music.

The results of this experiment indicate that the design of interfaces should be carefully considered in the development of online learning environments. Students behaviour may be driven by the interface design. These findings have implications for designing online course environment where the design of the interface plays a crucial role in enhancing social presence. 

SIMULATE, the name of the case-based learning tool developed for this course, stands for Simulation for [Computing] and Information Master s [Students] to Understand, Learn, and Apply Teamwork and Ethics. It allows students to work individually or in groups with other students to resolve ethical dilemmas. It can be used in face-to-face or in online courses and exposes students to a variety of ethical principles, but also creates an environment where students can consider the relationship of values and ethical decision making (see Fig. 12.1).

WebAssign is filled with end-of-chapter problems, resources, and course management features. WebAssign has content experts on the premises to respond to any question within 24 hours. This, of course, is a very important part of the program. We are developing it on an as-needed basis in response to feedback from users. In particular, we still have not implemented a complete explanation facility. The user interface currently provides online help and a menu based selection of valid responses whenever applicable. 

Scenario A highly renowned culinary school wants to appeal to future chefs who might not be able to afford going to school full time for two years. It develops a hybrid course that features online instruction for the first and third semesters, with hands-on semesters at the school in between. Prior to launch, the school runs a pilot to work out the kinks in their V-Chef course, and to gather initial customer feedback. 

Six universities in Germany collaborated to develop NOP (Nachhaltigkeit Organische Chemie Praktikum) Online, an organic chemistry lab course focused on sustainability (17). This collection features 75 organic chemistry experiments, a handful of which have been fully evaluated for their environmental impacts.
