In response to the needs of industry, a number of centers for graduate study in maeromolecular science have developed. The first such center was at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute (now Polytechnic University) and large centers now exist at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio I Pig. I). University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and University of Akron (Ohio). The first accredited engineering undergraduate degree program in polymer science was developed in die Department of Maeromolecular Science at Case Western Reserve University. 

Research on consequences of pharmacists job stress could be informative for students (Table 13-4). It is logical to conclude that what is considered job stress for pharmacists could be school stress for students or a combination of work and school. Thus, if students feel stressed about school and perhaps their internship, they likely might suffer similar consequences as pharmacists dissatisfaction with their Pharm.D. program or internship, lower commitment to completing one s degree program or even pharmacy as a career, quitting school or the internship or both, and the potential for substance abuse and burnout. 

In this paper, an attempt will be made to illustrate the relationship that exists between education and the forensic sciences, to present some of the problems that can be encountered in establishing a forensic science degree program, and to discuss how these problems were confronted in establishing a B.S. degree program in Forensic Science at Florida Technological University (FTU) in Orlando, Florida. 

Forensic science is such a broad heterogeneous field of endeavor requiring such a great diversity of skills that no one single degree program can ever hope to accomplish this task. 

There is little demand today for personnel with the general experience that would result from a B.S. degree program. 

What constitutes a degree program in Forensic Science and what can be accomplished within the structure of such a program ... 

There is a limit to the number of courses and "hours" which can be required of a student in a degree program. Students can "volunteer" to take additional course work but in a physical sense there is usually a limit to the time which a student has available for extra courses. 

Specialization within a B.S. degree program which requires input from many scientific disciplines is limited. Some measure of specialization can be achieved by providing elective hours within the program which students can...

How can classes be structured within a forensic science degree program to meet the needs of the working professional and the full time student ... 

These are the basic problems to which the educator, the man in the middle, must find working solutions if he is going to have a successful forensic science degree program.
