How do they depend on publication of textbooks, handbooks, monographs, professional magazines, and research journals These surely are essential ingredients  

How do they depend on university curricula and accrediting bodies On university department structure On faculty qualifications and their relations to source sciences like chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and economics No profession survives without a steady supply of young recruits schooled in its discipline, imbued with high standards and tuned for the future.

As a result, we could open the door to a new frontier in indole chemistry. Various 1-hydroxyindoles (4a), l-hydroxytryptophans(la), 1-hydroxytryptamines (lb), and their derivatives have been given birth for the first time. As predicted, 1-hydroxytryptophan and 1-hydroxytryptamine derivatives are found to undergo previously unknown nucleophilic substitution reactions. In addition, we have been uncovering many interesting reactivities characteristic of 1-hydroxyindole structures. From the synthetic point of view, useful building blocks for indole alkaloids, hither to inaccessible by the well-known electrophilic reactions in indole chemistry, have now become readily available. Many biologically interesting compounds have been prepared as well.

My attempt of depicting the new frontiers for Quantum Chemistry has no produced exhaustive and detailed indications. It is almost impossible to present in a few pages indications of this type, of questionable validity even tf expressed as final report of a panel of experts, after a hard collective work on this theme. Quantum Chemistry is in fact one of the cornerstones of Chemis, enjoying good health as the other branches of Chemistry, and there are ample and varied perspectives of progress. A selection of some themes woitld means to indulge too much to personal tastes.

DNA analysis has become an invaluable tool having very many practical applications that aim to open new frontiers in science. The sequencing of the human genome will provide information that could be applied to the study of genetic disorders as well as complications affecting the behaviour of humans at molecular level.

IMS is a new, developing technique to visualize biomolecule maps in tissue. IMS has opened a new frontier in medicine as well as in clinical applications. Lipids and low-molecular-weight compounds in tissue sections cannot be observed with conventional microscopic or electron microscopic techniques therefore, no distribution map of these molecules in a tissue structure has been described in the scientific literature or in medical textbooks. However, IMS is bringing to light the characteristic distribution map of lipids (Fig. 21.11) this map made a major impact to lipid research.
