Moisture agents

Because panthenol binds well to hair follicles and attracts moisture from the air, it is a moisturizing agent used in shampoos and conditioners. It lubricates the hair without feeling greasy. Instead, it smoothes roughened hair surfaces, making them shiny and easier to comb. 

Sodium PCA is a moisturizing agent it draws moisture from the air and holds it. 

A second indication for keratolytical and some moisturizing agents (e.g., urea) is the penetration enhancement of topically applied antipsoriatic drugs (e.g., salicylic acid in the dithranol and coal tar treatment or corticosteroids). This may result in an economical benefit.11...
