All nitrocelluloses are soluble in acetone. The viscosity of the solutions is very variable. (For its adjustment by pressure boiling see above.) Nitrocellulose is transported in tightly closed drums or in pasteboard drums lined with plastic bags inside, which contain at least 25% of a moisturizing agent (water, alcohol, isopropanol, butanol, etc.).

Disk brake pads and drum linings are finish ground to the final dimensions after the oven cure process. Sometimes, the surface of disk pad products are scorched or seared under the influence of heat applied in the 250-700" C range. This burns off the organics in the pad surface and helps the initial friction properties of brake pads. Scorching can be accomplished by a variety of methods—direct gas flame, contact with an electrically heated hot plate, or radiant heat from a heated surface. Subsequently, the parts are painted and stenciled with product information prior to packaging. 

The flammability problem was resolved by converting to waterborne flow coat primers. The first waterborne appliance flow coat primer was installed on a dryer drum line in 1972 (9 ). The primer was a water-soluble epoxy-modified acrylic that had excellent hardness, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. 

Commercial crude iodine normally has a minimum purity of 99.5% and is packed into fiber drums lined with double-ply polyethylene, with each drum containing 25-50 kg. There are no specific transportation, shipping, or safety requirements.

Heat-reactive resins are more compatible than oil-soluble resins with other polar-coating resins, such as amino, epoxy, and poly(vinyl butyral). They are used in interior-can and drum linings, metal primers, and pipe coatings. The coatings have excellent resistance to solvents, acids, and salts. They can be used over a wide range of temperatures, up to 370°C for short periods of dry heat, and continuously at 150°C. Strong alkalies shonld be avoided. 

One simple example of how the Chopper can be effechvely used is by changing a drum line to create an interesting break ... 

PVC samples that are no longer required should be stored in a closed steel drum lined with a polyethylene bag in an outdoor location. The drum is to be labeled Contaminated with Vinyl Chloride. Cancer-Suspect Agent. When filled, such a drum must be properly discarded.
