We coined the phrase click-fluor to describe the generation of a fluorophore from nonfluorescent constituent parts via a so-called click reaction. In this case, the triazole ring forms an integral part of the fluorophore that is, a new property is imparted on a molecule conceived by a click reaction. Using our simple click-fluor unit, we believe that it will become possible to develop fluorescent modular sensor arrays for rapid screening of target saccharides. The two most attractive aspects of click-fluor are that a fluorophore is generated upon triazole formation and the wide availability of acetylene units. [Pg.1319]

Linear TMIOOO series, M series, MX series TMIOOO series are modular sensors, ranges from 0-2000°C, spectral selection, thru-lens sights, linearized outputs, many control options. M series is lower cost but has fewer options. MX series consists of customized units with high-temperature and high-resolution options. [Pg.131]

In designing a range of modular sensors from which quantitative trends are to be derived, a generic scaffold must be established at the start of the project and adhered to throughout, if a meaningful comparison is to be obtained across the series. [Pg.84]

NeSSI s driver is to simplify and standardize sample system design. There is also a huge opportunity to adapt the emerging class of lab-on-a-chip sensors to a miniature/modular smart manifold which could fundamentally change the way in which industry does process analysis. [Pg.22]

The modular nature of the sensor allows the design of different sensors based on this concept. Fluorogenic calix [4]arenes (1, Fig. 7) bearing a pendent ethyleneamine on... [Pg.235]

Connecting lumophores and receptors with spacers permits the build-up of modular systems of increasing logical complexity. Even the simplest of these systems can be powerful molecular sensors. [Pg.405]

The central topic of the book was the integration of microhotplate-based metal-oxide gas sensors with the associated circuitry to arrive at single-chip systems. Innovative microhotplate designs, dedicated post-CMOS micromachining steps, and novel system architectures have been developed to reach this goal. The book includes a multitude of building blocks for an application-specific sensor system design based on a modular approach. [Pg.107]

The previous section concentrated on the management of a hard and soft sensors network. This is an important step since the information sources must be carefully checked before being further used. This section will be devoted to the diagnosis of the overall biological state of the process. In particular, it will illustrate that the use of the Evidence theory approach improves the fault diagnosis system in terms of modularity and d3mamical adaptation. [Pg.228]

A global diagnosis system (i.e., accounting for all the available information sources in a single box) could have been developed. However, modularity would then be very low since adding or removing one information source (e.., one sensor) would break down the overall structure and lead to false alarms or... [Pg.228]

Of course, neither all the modules of Figure 12 - nor all the sensors in Figure 9 - are needed to supervise an AD process and once again, modularity is central in this diagnosis architecture. A set of sensors able to use from 4 to 6 boxes among the 10 presented, can be considered as enough rich to supervise AD. [Pg.230]

The idea of exploiting these new conducting polymers for the development of flexible diodes and junction transistors, as well as for selective field effect transistor sensors, has been proposed and experimentally confirmed, and thus we may, perhaps optimistically, look forward to a time when popular electronic devices can be based on low cost, flexible and modular polymer components. [Pg.229]

A modular and flexible approach to polythiophene sensors based on the polymerization of a thiophene-activated ester has been reported (Bernier et al. 2002). Subsequent reaction of the pol5mierized NHS ester with a variety of diamines permits the synthesis of sensors for different analytes from a common platform. For example, reaction of the NHS polymer with an aminomethyl-modified 15-crown-5 derivative yielded a polymer that underwent color changes in the presence of alkah cations (Fig. 12.14). [Pg.324]

The modular structure of peptides and the well-established methods for their assembly enable the rapid synthesis of many structurally diverse catalyst candidates. For rapid screening of these Miller et al. developed the indicator 28 which becomes fluorescent on protonation (Scheme 12.14). In other words, catalyst candidates are usually incubated with acetic anhydride, the proton sensor 28 [32], and the two individual substrate enantiomers in separate microtiter plates. A related assay based on pH color indicators was developed by Davis et al. [34b],... [Pg.335]
