Material Safety Data Sheets risk assessment

All Monsanto PMN s submitted to date have voluntarily included information beyond that mandated by the act. This has, in some cases, included Material Safety Data Sheets, Label information, details regarding the industrial hygiene programs in the proposed manufacturing site(s), risk assessment information and other related information. While this information is not mandated, we believe in most situations it is to our benefit to assist the agency in this way. 

Chemical suppliers send material safety data sheets to centres when chemicals are purchased, so you should ask your teacher or lecturer to see these when you are preparing your risk assessment. 

Special models and programs are developed for such purposes as health and safety management and assessment, risk analysis and assessment, emission control and detection and quality control. Such a program may, for example, help the user to keep records regarding training, chemical inventories, emergency response plans, material safety data, sheet expiry dates and so on.

It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances to reduce the number of tests on animals.
