Sprecher introduced a document. It was a directive from Hermann Schmitz requiring Von Schnitzler to report to the managing board all "basic questions" discussed in the commercial committee. From Judge Morris tone, one imagined that the cocklebur regretted its position. 

All non-Aiyans employed by the Austrian organizations should be given leave of absence, i.e., should be dismissed. Likewise, the directors and members of the managing boards, in so far as they are non-Aryans, are to be asked to give up their mandates. 

A management board, consisting of representatives of each EU member state and representatives of the European Commission and European Parliament. This group functions mainly to coordinate EMEA activities and manage its budget. 

I intended to write this book many years ago, but only after my retirement as a member of the managing board of Dragerwerke AG did I have the time to do so. 

The current structure of MedDRA is defined in Table 21.6. There will be a central maintenance organization responsible for development, user support, implementation and communication as well as an international user group. A management board will oversee the activities of the central maintenance organization with direction provided by the ICH Steering Committee. A standard medical dictionary will facilitate electronic data exchange between industry and regulatory authorities worldwide, as recommended by the ICH. 

With the support and direction of its advisory and management boards, CCPS established a multifaceted program to address the need for process safety technology and management systems to reduce potential exposures to the public, the environment, personnel and facilities. Over the past several years, CCPS has extended its publication program to include a "Concept Series" of books. These books are focused on more specific topics than the longer, more comprehensive Guidelines series and are intended to complement them. With the issuance of this title, CCPS has published 80 books. 

A management board supervises the EMEA, while its scientific activities are largely earried out through its two scientifie eommittees and their working parties. The board and the seientifie eommittees and their working parties are supported by the EMEA seeretariat, headed by an exeeutive direetor. 

The management board is made up of two representatives from eaeh member state, the European Parliament, and the European Commission. Representatives of Iceland and Norway, who are members of the European Economic Area (EEA) but not of the EU, also attend board meetings. On 1 January 2000, these coimtries formally joined the EMEA. The board appoints the executive director and approves the budget and work program each year. 

Customer orientation and initial solution-free formulation of customers wishes, as an orientation for product development, appear to be promising approaches for innovations with regard to the application safety of chemicals-based products. However, the initiative for this is not mainly due to substance manufacturers, but rather to the chemicals users being close to the consumers. To what extent the commercial/industrial chemicals end-users (users of production auxiliary materials that are not included in the product) also transform the latent desire for application-safe products into effective demand behaviour, depends on other constellations of motives than those of private end-consumers. The employers liabihty insurance, chambers of commerce and industry, branch associations, trade unions and management boards of large-scale companies play a key role in making quality and competition effective as drivers for innovation here too.

After my retirement from the managing board of Dragerwerke AG, I had the time to write the German edition of this book, Gefnertrocknen, published in 1997, and the first English edition in 1999. This year, a translation into Japanese has been published. 

The strategic alignment of related business units and the requirements of operational leadership made it necessary to combine the 23 (later 21) business units in six (later five) divisions. However, previous experience had shown that direct responsibility of management board members for operational branches resulted in two problems ... 

Feike Sijbesma has been a member of the managing board of directors at DSM since 2000. In 1987, he joined the Industrial Pharmaceuticals division of Gist-brocades, with responsibility for strategic planning and business development. After several jobs within the company he joined its executive committee in 1995. Gist-brocades became part of DSM in 1998. Feike Sijbesma studied medical biology at the University of Utrecht and business administration at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

NFPs maintain and develop the national network, facilitate and co-ordinate contacts, requests and deliveries at the national and EU level. In addition, they act as advisers to their EEA Management Board members and develop contacts with other relevant networks such as Eurostat. In order to promote key EEA publications, many NFPs organise launch events and issue press releases.
