Successful implementation requires that the new system is reviewed by all those who will use it, or by representatives of these groups. Generally a small team will be appointed with overall responsibility for implementation this team will include representatives from every major group that will use the new system. Once this team has agreed on the overall implementation strategy, each member of the team will work with one or more user groups to explain the new system and its implementation. [Pg.97]

There are many ways to take traditional SAS monospace font output and place it into Microsoft Word RTF files. The traditional way to get SAS output into Microsoft Word is to open a Word file and import the SAS LST output manually. Then you adjust the Word margins and font sizes to get your Word document to cooperate with the PAGESIZE and LINESIZE settings that you had in SAS. Some industrious individuals have written elaborate Visual Basic macros in Microsoft Word to import large numbers of SAS LST files automatically into Word. There are also several SAS users group papers on how to convert traditional SAS output into RTF output. Another approach to getting traditional ASCII SAS output into an RTF file is simply to wrap RTF commands around your ASCII SAS output. Here are the steps you would take to do this ... [Pg.193]

If you are creating RTF files for your SAS output, you should know that you can pass RTF commands to your output and Microsoft Word will interpret them. For instance, if you want to boldface some text, you can simply preface the text with b and suffix the text to be bolded with b0 . The full dictionary of RTF commands and the complete RTF specification can be found on the Microsoft Developer Network at http //msdn.microsoft.com. Several SAS users group papers provide the most common RTF commands that you might want. [Pg.194]

SAS users groups are user-based communities supported by SAS Institute that are organized by geographical or industrial areas. These users groups typically have annual meetings where you can go to leam and to network with fellow SAS programmers. [Pg.297]

Network with professionals in the industry. Friends or contacts in the industry can serve as valuable job references. Attending local, regional, and national SAS users group meetings is an excellent way to network as well. SAS keeps a list of users groups at http //support.sas.com/usergroups/. [Pg.301]

The area of complex condensed matter depends crucially on the availability of appropriate tools for both fabrication and characterization. These tools are of intermediate size they are neither a test tube nor a synchrotron. Typical tools— scanning probe microscopes, x-ray photoelectron spectrometers, electron microscopes, clean rooms—cost from 0.1 million to 5 million. They are shared-use facilities, but they must be local to the user group—travel to distance facilities for routine measurements is not practical. [Pg.145]

This paper deals with the current status of this potentially very powerful tool and shows characteristics and capabilities, and some typical results. In the near future, while the CIS module will mature, it is foreseen that a so-called CIS user group will be initiated, which NATO countries can join. [Pg.70]

In 2006, as a means of making these data available in a spatial format to various user groups, the New Brunswick Department of Environment (DENV) began development of a series of thematic maps of groundwater quality using information in the domestic water well database. The goal was to develop a series of maps, which could be publicly... [Pg.457]

The current structure of MedDRA is defined in Table 21.6. There will be a central maintenance organization responsible for development, user support, implementation and communication as well as an international user group. A management board will oversee the activities of the central maintenance organization with direction provided by the ICH Steering Committee. A standard medical dictionary will facilitate electronic data exchange between industry and regulatory authorities worldwide, as recommended by the ICH. [Pg.853]

Few books attempt to cover the area of automatic chemistry. Technical papers which relate to automation have most often been presented in analytical journals dealing with the basic subject area, and the details of the automation are less well documented than the chemistry. Aspects of management, education and economics are given scant treatment despite their importance. The Journal oj Automatic Chemistry [8] was launched to fill this void in the literature and experience has shown that there is a wealth of technical experience awaiting publication. In addition, it is vital for the suppliers of automatic instrumentation and computer systems to set up adequate lines of communications with their customers. User groups are a valuable asset so that experiences, good and bad, are shared and any problems resolved. A user who becomes frustrated for lack of support or information will become a source of bad reference. A satisfied user, on the other hand, will provide valuable input which may benefit future users and assist the company in providing instruments that the user needs. [Pg.25]
