Labels accuracy

In the manufacturing process, the QA and QC laboratories are fundamental in assuring sterility, purity, labeling accuracy, and other aspects of quality. The GLPs provide the template for control to assure the reliability of results and the credibility of the final product. [Pg.231]

Nutritional Labeling Descriptors. In order to avoid confusion, descriptive terms must be accompanied by definitions which adequately explain the terms. In the case of nutrition-related claims, analytical sampling offers a means of assuring the accuracy of the stated claims. The USDA s FSIS has proposed a Hst of descriptors relevant for meat and poultry products (Table 3). [Pg.35]

Knowing when the instrument s accuracy was last checked so that you can have confidence in its results - calibration records and labels fulfill this need. [Pg.401]

If the p labels refer to lattice sites j, this matrix reduces to 6(k) in the KKR matrix M(k) and Eq. (15) can be shown to reduce to Eq. (14). The evaluation of is hindered by the free-electron poles in the b matrices. This has formed a barrier for electronic structure calculations of interstitial impurities, but in some cases this problem was bypassed by using an extended lattice in which interstitial atoms occupy a lattice site. For the calculation of Dingle temperatures [1.3] and interstitial electromigration [14] the accuracy was just sufficient. Recently this accuracy problem has been solved [15, 16]. [Pg.470]

As mentioned, the data obtained by this method are expressed as cumulative size distribution curves. Since the computations assume Stokes law for spherical particles, the plotted curves give the distribution of spherical particles which would behave like the actual sample with respect to this experiment. For this reason, the sizes on the distribution curves should be labelled Stokes Equivalent Diameter . Because of the underlying assumptions and the above interpretation of the results, it is clear that the repeatability of this method has more meaning than accuracy of comparison with results of other methods... [Pg.516]

Adequate precision and accuracy are only likely to be achieved if some standardization procedure is employed and the nature of this, internal or external standards or the method of standard additions, needs to be chosen carefully. If internal standardization procedures are adopted then appropriate compound(s) must be chosen and their effect on the chromatographic and mass spectrometry methods assessed. The ideal internal standard is an isotopically labelled analogue of the analyte but, although there are a number of commercial companies who produce a range of such molecules, these are not always readily available. An analytical laboratory is then faced with the choice of carrying out the synthesis of the internal standard themselves or choosing a less appropriate alternative with implications on the accuracy and precision of the method to be developed. [Pg.270]

When analysing the labelled contents, apart from code 6, which is ambiguous since the risk is bonded to the presence of air, the other codes are obviously instability codes. Nevertheless, their definitions seem to lack accuracy and coherence. Indeed,... [Pg.122]

For regulatory purposes, food-based RMs play an important role in validating accuracy of analytical data from use of routine methodology. For example, the quality of data obtained by analytical measurements serves an important function with regard to ensuring nutritional label claims. Unfortunately, and historically in some cases, assay data for the same analyte can vary greatly from laboratory to laboratory. Evalua-... [Pg.287]

Analytical accuracy. The mixture of all deuterium-labeled internal standards is added to each water sample before extraction. This does not prevent the loss of the unlabeled herbicides from the sample in subsequent processing steps, but a proportional loss of the deuterated internal standard precludes the need to correct for recovery. Although referring to recovery in this type of analysis is inappropriate, the accuracy of this method should be monitored. [Pg.377]

Quantitative analysis using FAB is not straightforward, as with all ionisation techniques that use a direct insertion probe. While the goal of the exercise is to determine the bulk concentration of the analyte in the FAB matrix, FAB is instead measuring the concentration of the analyte in the surface of the matrix. The analyte surface concentration is not only a function of bulk analyte concentration, but is also affected by such factors as temperature, pressure, ionic strength, pH, FAB matrix, and sample matrix. With FAB and FTB/LSIMS the sample signal often dies away when the matrix, rather than the sample, is consumed therefore, one cannot be sure that the ion signal obtained represents the entire sample. External standard FAB quantitation methods are of questionable accuracy, and even simple internal standard methods can be trusted only where the analyte is found in a well-controlled sample matrix or is separated from its sample matrix prior to FAB analysis. Therefore, labelled internal standards and isotope dilution methods have become the norm for FAB quantitation. [Pg.369]

Measure the KIE with high accuracy for each isotopically labeled form of the substrate. [Pg.199]

These low-temperature amide V IR and VCD isotope-edited results could be modeled with near-quantitative accuracy with DFT parameters by transferring ab initio FF, APT, and AAT parameters from computations for an a -helical heptapeptide model compound onto an o -helical 20-mer oligopeptide (Fig. 8 left). This simulation does not agree with data for the C-terminally labeled oligomer, because experimentally that end of... [Pg.160]

Compound B (PIB) which demonstrates AP amyloid burden in vivo. This brain penetrant nC-labeled uncharged thioflavin derivative binds to A[3 with high affinity [16]. The PET patterns of labeled PIB are interpreted to reflect the A[3 burden in the brain [ 16]. In comparison with controls, subjects with AD show marked retention of label in several areas of brain that usually accumulate amyloid. This approach should eventually prove useful for enhancing accuracy of diagnosis and should allow assessment of the efficacies of new anti-amyloid therapeutics. Further details of brain imaging are found in Ch. 58. [Pg.782]

From the laboratory of K. Y. Kigoshi in Tokyo, we obtained a 2000 year ring sequence of a cedar from the southern tip of Japan, in which Kigoshi had counted and labeled the rings in addition he verified his dates by making 50 radiocarbon measurements in its wood. Although radiocarbon dating s accuracy is only about 40 years, from 50 measurements the verification achieves an accuracy of 40/(50)1/2 or about 6 years. [Pg.258]

However, we should emphasize that the NBO/NRT concepts of hybridization, Lewis structure, and resonance differ in important respects from previous empirical usage of these terms. In earlier phases of valence theory it was seldom possible to determine, e.g., the atomic hybridization by independent theoretical or experimental procedures, and instead this term became a loosely coded synonym for the molecular topology. For example, a trigonally coordinated atom might be categorized as sp2-hybridized or an octahedrally coordinated atom as d2sp3-hybridized, with no supporting evidence for the accuracy of these labels as descriptors of actual... [Pg.35]
