The allocation of home office expenses shows up in this category. It has been argued that home office expenses do not increase with the addition of a new plant or unit. Hov/ever, a full allocation of home office overhead should be made for each study, since old units are phasing out or losing profitability. The new units must carry their share. Further, as discussed next in the section on Economics, each new unit must stand on its own and contribute to the overall company s profitability. The cost of yield clerks, plant accountants, plant personnel representatives, plant transportation department personnel, etc., must be estimated and included here.

One of the most common systems for cleaning air in homes, offices, schools, etc. is the room air cleaner. Figure 8.2 outlines a model of a local recirculating system. An Important difference is In the use of materials which in Prance la only about 2/3 of the United States. In 1978, the Home Office report (14) concerning the fire behaviour of new (i.e. post 1945) materials specifically criticised the fire performance of upholstered domestic furniture and recommended manufacturers to improve ignition resistance, to reduce flammability, and to reduce the rates of smoke and toxic gas generation.

Silver is usually found in extremely low concentrations in natural waters because of its low crustal abundance and low mobility in water (USEPA 1980). Virtually every natural resource (cmde oil, coal, biomass, minerals) and every source of energy (petrochemical fuels, nuclear, natural gas, solar) require the use of many catalysts before finished products (fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, polymers, composites) arrive in our homes, offices and industries [1]. Catalysts also play increasingly important roles in solving some of the most challenging environmental problems that we currently face (global warming, the greenhouse effect, limited natural resources and polluhon) [2].
