Herring bodies

Sodium chloride is a white, crystalline substance held together by the electrostatic forces between its two constituents, sodium ions and chloride ions. Salt is essential for human life. An average person has almost a quarter pound of it distributed throughout his or her body. Many of the sodium ions are found in the blood, where, among other things, they regulate blood pressure. Because salt is lost in sweat and urine, a normal diet requires us to consume it regularly.

If this person eats three meals a day like this one, he or she will consume close to three times the calories his or her body requires. The vast majority of these calories will wind up being stored as fat.

With medical treatment, her body will likely recover more important, though, her mind needs to recover so she can see what she is doing to herself and understand what will happen if she continues to starve herself.

Emphasize to your client that it would do his or her body a favor to get an annual physical from a physician. Most people do not blink an eye to get a car in for a tune-up but for some reason are not as faithful about attending to their bodies. If they have medical conditions that require certain treatments or taking medicine, they should do what they are told to do by their doctors, and reliably. After all, we will only get as far in this life as our bodies will take us ...
