The promise of a huge high-reliability market was built around a myth. Understanding the true potential size of the high-reliability market requires an understanding of the complex interplay between the growth of the Internet and the digital economy s effect on electricity demand. With the recent growth of the Internet and WWW, more easy and convenient access methods are available. The WWW access to STN (STN Easy) is an example of this. Up to now it does not have the flexibility and the power of the classic retrieval language and also it is not possible to access all STN databases this way. But it is sufficient for most easy requests. The future will bring further development in this field, especially when a safe method for electronic cash and money exchange on the WWW becomes common, the database providers will take this opportunity to open their market to casual users. [Pg.346]
