Flanges inspections

The bottom of the fluidized bed has an incline of about 15° and carries the bent gas inlet tubes. These tubes are movable vertically so that their distance from the bottom of the fluidized bed can be varied. With this arrangement there is a variable settling zone for small metal pieces such as will be deposited on pyrolytic stripping of copper-cored wiring. A flanged inspection cover is fitted to the bottom of the gas distribution zone. [Pg.415]

Maintenance. The lack of maintenance and investment in inspection programs results in not only poor housekeeping but unnoticed leaks due to corrosion, leaking flanges and valves, and inoperative instmmentation that could prevent spills. [Pg.321]

For flanges of nonstandard dimensions or for sizes beyond the scope of the approved standards, design shall be in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Sec. T11, except that requirements for fabrication, assembly, inspection testing, and the pressure and temperature hmits for materials of the Piping Code are to prevail. Dimensional and runout inspections to determine the extent of deformation to bores, turns, flange faces, and fit areas. [Pg.206]

Insulating flanges to be inspected and tested at intervals not exceeding one month to ensure the insulation is clean and in good condition. Resistance should be measured between the metal pipe on shore side of flange and the end of the hose or metal arm when freely suspended. The measured value should be at least 1000 ohms. [Pg.481]

Steel pipe is now entirely welded, except for joints which need to be taken apart for service, which will be flanged. It is essential that welding is carried out by competent craftsmen and is subject to stringent inspection [29, 30]. [Pg.132]

The outer wall of this holder is provided with a spiral groove for insertion of a heating wdre. The holder is installed into a pressure vessel via a few screw connections, giving a gas-tight system. Quartz glass inspection flanges at both ends of the vessel serve for pyrometric inspection to judge the catalyst temperatures at the stack inlet and outlet. [Pg.273]

Blind flanges (blank flanges) are flat plates, used to blank off flange connections, and as covers for manholes and inspection ports. [Pg.859]

Hydrocarbon emissions is an environmental problem which is prominent in some areas of the country. In these areas, pollutant levels occasionally exceed the national ambient air quality standard. One source of these pollutants involves emissions from refineries where about 85 percent of the hydrocarbons emitted to the atmosphere are from fugitive emissions. The principal contributors generally are valves, flanges, pumps, and compressors. Since 1981, valves and flanges must be repaired if they have emission concentrations greater than 10,000 ppm, when measured at the source with a hydrocarbon analyzer. They must be inspected every six months to a year. Pumps and compressors, however, need to be checked every shift to verify that they meet current emission standards. [Pg.76]

Among the topics of the TEMA Standards are nomenclature, fabrication toforances, inspection, guarantees, tubes, shells, baffles and support plates, floating heads, ga ets, tube sheets, channels, nozzles, end flanges and bolting, material specifications, and fouling resistances. [Pg.888]
