Fisher system

Degradation studies demonstrated that (-)-norepinephrine is related to D-(-)-mandelic acid therefore, it was given the D-designation using the Fisher system. With the CIP system, norepinephrine is assigned the (R)-absolute configuration. [Pg.77]

Both of these systems provide an alternative for the colorblind. In the Fisher system, the first letter of the color is displayed prominently in the color bar, and is spelled out for clarity. In addition, companies may also place internationally recognizable pictograms identifying various hazards on their labels. With all this information, compatible storage should be feasible. [Pg.250]

In a study by Stresser and co-workers, the effect on tumor modulation by 227 has been investigated. HPLC on liver extracts from Fisher 344 rats revealed two major compounds, 3,3 -bisindolylmefliane (133) and a linear trimer, together with a < l(KX)-fold lower content of 4 in comparison with the two major substances. The HPLC isolate was derivatized with /V-methyl-/V-bis(trifluoroacetamide) that, upon MS detection, gave a compound identical to /V,W -ditrifluoroacetylindolo-[3,2-()]carbazole. The content of 4 in this system was estimated to be 0.(XKX)13% of the total dose of 227 given. Thus, it was concluded that the beneficial effect of oral distribution of 227 is due to the total content of derivatives formed (95MI5). [Pg.51]

The theoretical foundation for describing critical phenomena in confined systems is the finite-size scaling approach [64], by which the dependence of physical quantities on system size is investigated. On the basis of the Ising Hamiltonian and finite-size scaling theory, Fisher and Nakanishi computed the critical temperature of a fluid confined between parallel plates of distance D [66]. The critical temperature refers to, e.g., a liquid/vapor phase transition. Alternatively, the demixing phase transition of an initially miscible Kquid/Kquid mixture could be considered. Fisher and Nakashini foimd that compared with free space, the critical temperature is shifted by an amoimt... [Pg.143]
