Fast-curing adhesive resin

The reactions of phosphoric acid esters with epoxy resins have been employed to obtain fast-curing adhesives [42], corrosion-inhibiting coatings [43], fire-resistant materials [44], and high-solids coatings [45-48]. [Pg.403]

RF resin is also used to make fast-curing adhesives for laminated timber and beams as well as adhesive applications in building construction. [Pg.139]

A different form of RF resin is aiso used to make a fast curing adhesive for iaminated timber, beams, and other adhesive construction appiications. [Pg.148]

Amines are one of the most important curing agents for epoxy resins. They provide fast cures with a relatively high crosslink density. Unmodified amine cured epoxy resins are generally too brittle for adhesive applications, and so there are many derivatives that have been developed. More information on amine curing agents can be found in Chap. 5. [Pg.39]

A unique feature of these imidazole catalysts is that they do not have the high exotherm that dicyandiamide produces when cured in epoxy resins. Thus, they do not char or burn when exposed to high cure temperatures for fast cure. This is an important factor for adhesives that are cured via induction or dielectric heating. These adhesive systems are also much safer to ship via ah freight than conventional dicyandiamide catalyzed epoxy formulations due to their low exotherm. [Pg.106]

Other industrial applications include the fabrication of two-part epoxy resins (similar to those commonly found in household maintenance stores) [95-97], These were synthesized using triglycerides and diamines. These resins are often used as adhesives these have also been studied using soybean oil, which provided beneficial properties in terms of fast curing, thermal stability and ease of removal (peel strength) [98], A blend of divinylbenzene/styrene/tung oil mix gave a polyurethane-based material which behaved like a smart polymer with shape memory behaviour [66]. [Pg.131]

Their J-39 adhesives are room-temperature curable, second-generation acrylics (16). Methyl methacrylate is the monomer, and a nitrile rubber and Dow ABS resin are used as toughening agents. This family of adhesives have been used in automotive, machinery and aerospace structures. Their J-50 adhesives (17) are two-component, fast-cure acrylics. In addition, they also developed a special adhesive, J-15 structural adhesive, for hydroplanes. [Pg.828]
