Examination and Inspection The code differentiates between examination and inspection. Examination applies to quality-control functions performed by personnel of the piping manufacturer, fabricator, or erector. Inspection applies to fiinctions performed for the owner by the authorized inspector. 

Piping design, materials, joint fabrication, examination, and inspection shall be in accordance with ANSI/ASME B31.3. 

Written contracts for consultants and contract laboratories describe the education, training, experience and the type of services provided and are available for examination and inspection. Records of their activities are maintained. 

No batch shall be released for marketing prior to examination of all production records, data obtained from in-process and final item testing and examinations, and inspection for signs of visual defects. Release of the batch shall be made by authorized personnel in quality control. 

On some critical processes requiring alloy steel piping on which a pressure gage connection must be provided, this too is located near a pipe flange in the line, about two pipe diameters away from the face of the flange. This puts the connection where it can be examined and inspected from the inside of the pipe, for possible erosion. 

The methodology of the integrated valve concept includes the guarantee for readiness for function during lifetime. In nuclear power plants inspections of the function of the whole system is performed periodically beginning with power supply and I C including the shut-off element in the valve. The results are compared with the base measurements. For evaluation of the results of periodic examinations and inspection the model for function and the model for load analysis as well as the design evaluation are used. 

A number of common issues arise from the various legislative requirements for examination and inspection of plant and equipment.

Provides information and procedures for the periodic visual examination and inspection of Natural Gas Fuel containers and their installations in vehicles, which are certified to meet the AN SI/AG A NGV2 standard and the DOT standard (23 pages). 

SEM images of the blends were obtained to visually examine and inspect the mixing behavior of the interactive excipients. The SEM images showed that the PVP-Leu and PVP-SD appeared to adhere to the surface of paracetamol (Figure 1.9). This may be attributed to their small particle size given that fine particles are known to adhere to coarse particles mainly by van der Waals forces [55]. Furthermore, PVP-Leu appeared to form a more uniform monolayer, whereas PVP-SD appeared as more irregular cliunps or agglomerates over the surface of API particles. Examine and inspect similar designs (including identification of the kinds of hazards and how they were controlled) actually go to the sites and look them over. 

Written standards represent the attempt to standardize the historical experience of individuals accumulated over time. Some standards reflect scientific theories about gas behavior, combustion, or rock mechanics. Standards like 30 CFR 75(301-5), for example, specify the maximum concentrations of explosive gases that can accumulate in a section. Other standards specify general procedures like air sampling without citing specific techniques or codes of practice [30 CFR 75(301-6)]. Some standards specify testing meth-t)ds developed by scientific testing institutes like American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) [30 CFR 75(302-3)]. And some specify the sequence of procedures that must occur in pre-shift examinations and inspections [30 CFR 75(303)]. 

The maintenance, testing, examination and inspection programme shall take into account the systems and components which are affected by the operating limits and conditions, as well as any other regulatory and safety requirements. 

Suitably qualified and eiqierienced persons should be involved in die approval and inqilementation of the maintenance, testing, examination and inspection programme and in tbe approval of working procedures and acceptance criteria for these activities. 

Records should be kept of maintenance, testing, examination and inspection and should be subject to periodic examination to establish whether systems and components give the required reliability and to provide a basis on which to review and justify the programme of maintenance, etc.
