Equipment Separators

Equipment Separator designs differ for the various types of materiafs to be separated. In general, magnetic separation devices can be grouped as follows ... [Pg.1794]

Superfractionation is an extension of distillation using smaller diameter columns and 100 or more trays to achieve reflux ratios exceeding 5 1. This equipment separates a narrow range aunponents such as of high-purity solvents, e.g., isoparaffins or individual aromatic compounds foi use. IS petrochemicals. [Pg.288]

In order to properly classify areas surrounding production equipment, not only must the specific items of equipment (separators, pumps, compressors. etc.) be identified, but also the degree of ventilation must be... [Pg.504]

Distances are recommended for zoning of electrical equipment, separation of storage from buildings etc. Distances are also proposed (on the basis of experience) to minimize the escalation or effects on site of fire, explosion, toxic relea.se or similar incident. Selected sources of information are summarized in Table 11.6. A typical example is given in Table 11.8 subject to the requirement of Table 11.7. [Pg.272]

Equipment separate from the computer system but considered part of the computer system must be determined (if calibration and qualification is required) prior to, or as part of, the computer system installation qualification this situation may arise in certain laboratory or shop floor situations. [Pg.65]

Clear-liquor advance is used for two purposes (1) to reduce the quantity of liquor that must be processed by the solid-liquid separation equipment (e.g., filter or centrifuge) that follows the crystallizer, and (2) to separate the residence time distributions of crystals and liquor. The reduction in liquor flow through the separation equipment can allow the use of smaller equipment for a fixed production rate or increased production through fixed equipment. Separating the residence time distributions of crystals and liquor means that crystals will have an average residence time longer than that of the liquor. This should, in principle, lead to the production of larger crystals, but because the crystallizer is otherwise well mixed, the crystal population density will have the same form as that for the MSMPR crystallizer (Eq. (54)). [Pg.217]

Although introduced at the same time as ED, routine application of ultrafiltration has only recently become feasible because of improvements in membranes and equipment. Separation of the protein and bound ligand from the free drug in solution occurs using a suitable membrane that retains the proteins and is assisted either by positive pressure or more commonly by centrifugation. [Pg.3027]

Surface production facilities must be designed and operated to accommodate solids production. Produced solids collect in production equipment, separation equipment, and storage facilities in the regular routine of oilfield operations. The accumulated solids, which can total up to 20% of a vessel s volume during 1 year of operation, must eventually be removed before loss of equipment efficiency results. Before disposal of the removed materials, an effective process must be used to recover any crude oil bound to the solid material. [Pg.444]

An intermediate facility will not require the level of sophistication normally associated with a final process facility. There will be differences with respect to equipment separation, architectural finishes, utilities, and general building configuration. Some of the differences include less costly equipment separation (open bays vs. rooms) architectural finishes consistent with fine chemical manufacturing, and potable (drinking) water vs. purified water. [Pg.144]

By equipping separators with mesh orifices, we can substantially improve their CE. Figure 19.17 shows the dependence of the CE of a mesh separator on the gas flow rate. For comparison, the figure also shows the same dependence for a gravitational separator without a mesh orifice. [Pg.633]

Robot or robot-assisted systems are being increasingly introduced into RP molding, at all levels of production, assembly and finishing. Where some processors prefer to specify such equipment separately, and adapt it themselves to their own production needs. Primary machinery... [Pg.456]

SPINLINE3 data links are mainly implemented through safety networks NERVIA networks and ACTUATOR networks. The use of optic fiber allows implementation of clear geographical and electrical equipment separation within one system and between systems. The NERVIA network can link IE units and non-classified imits implemented for instance in industrial PCs. The NERVIA protocol ensures that any unit on die network can read data from data areas of other imits but can only write in its own data area. Therefore, a non-classifred unit carmot do imintended changes in a classified one. [Pg.39]

Changes in the impedance of an IPMC may be used to create a self-sensing actuating device [Park et al. (2008)]. An advantage of such a device is that the deformation estimation is an intrinsic property of the actuator, i.e. there is no need to equip separate senors as it can function as a coexisting sensor. The capacitance and the resistance of an IPMC are caused by structural featmes of the Pt electrode particles, such as the space between each particle and the density of the particles. The internal electrical characteristics of the IPMC, especially the resistance and capacitance of the electrodes, are changed with the mechanical deformation of the IPMC. When an IPMC is bent, one electrode surface becomes concave (+), and the other convex (-). [Pg.219]

Compartmentation refers to the division of a building into compartments separated by stmctural material of specified fire resistance, such as a fire wall, to prevent spread of fire and smoke, and facilitate access by firefighters. Separation limits the opportunity for the fire to spread to other buildings. (There was recently a fatal blaze in a park home (semiportable home) which threatened to ignite others nearby.) It also refers to separation of certain key equipment such as sprinkler valve equipment. Separation for dangerous goods also separates the goods from fire sources such as roadways. [Pg.283]

The process does not require complicated technological equipment. Separation of arsenic is by filtration and diphenylamine is obtained by crystalisation. [Pg.100]
