Peterson s serves 110 million education consumers annually. 

National and state pharmacy associations recognize National Pharmacy Week as an opportunity for promoting the value of pharmacist services. Public relations efforts include press releases, public display and information booths, community-based seminars, and health fairs. The target audience includes patients and other health care professionals. Associations such as the APhA and ASHP provide members with promotional materials and patient education information for use at hospital-based or other local events. 

The Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) code of conduct addresses how pharmaceutical companies should interact with healthcare professionals. The interactions should be focused on informing these professionals about products, providing scientific and educational information, and supporting medical research and education to benefit patients. 

The purpose and focus of all symposia, congresses and other promotional, scientific or professional meetings (an event ) for healthcare professionals, organised or sponsored by a company, should be to inform healthcare professionals about products and/or to provide scientific or educational information. 

Health education information Websites may contain non-promotional health education information about the characteristics of diseases, methods of prevention, and screening and treatments, as well as other information intended to promote public health. They may refer to medicinal products, provided that the discussion is balanced and accurate. Relevant information may be given about alternative treatments, including, where appropriate, surgery, diet, behavioural change and other interventions that do not require use of medicinal products. Websites containing health education information must always advise individuals to consult a healthcare professional for further information. 

While DTC advertisements are not permitted in most countries, DACs are legal on the basis that they advance public health. In the United Kingdom, MCA guidelines state that DACs must be aimed at increasing awareness of a disease and to provide health education information on the disease and its management. It must not be used to promote or stimulate public demand for the use of a particular product or to encourage patients to... 

Reference and educational information is readily available online to providers and patients... 

In health and mental health, social workers often serve as part of an interdisciplinary team and spend the most quality time with their clients. In all likelihood the social worker will be one of the first team members to become aware of regimen problems, possible side effects, or medication reactions. Social workers need to understand the antidepressant medications their clients are taking and assist with compliance issues, pharmacy shopping, side-effect profiles, and medication insurance coverage, as well as providing education information and support.

Regarding articles, educational information, and Networking in addition to sourcing vendors and selecting materials, the Internet makes it easy to locate article archives, register for educational programs, and network with other professionals. 

The cost of corrosion in industrialized countries has been estimated to be about 3-4% of the gross national product [1.7, 1.8]. It has been further estimated that about 20% of this loss could have been saved by better use of existing knowledge in corrosion protection, design etc. In other words, there is a demand for applied research, education, information, transfer of knowledge and technology, and technical development. Teaching, where considerable emphasis is placed on the connections between practical problems and basic scientific principles, is considered to be of vital importance (see Section 1.3).
