Implementations of I C functions important to safety in nuclear power plants are increasingly realized with computer based systems, i.e. by its software. Often so called equipment families are used to develop these I C functions. Besides a hardware platform, these equipment families provide predeveloped software in the form of basic components from which I C functions can be composed by configuration and parameterization but also larger components which have been developed by conventional software engineering, as e.g. operating systems, I/O drivers, self-supervision software, etc. are included. Outside the equipment families, it may be desirable to introduce also other types of predeveloped software, e g. for simulation and for analysis purposes.

Motor carrier A for-hire motor carrier or a private motor carrier. Today, numerous different organisations are connected with many single work tasks. As one example, a driver of the subcontracting company picks up the load from the one mill site and transports it to the other one. After this, he takes the containers to the tank-cleaning company. In this case, the supply chain already includes five organisations the actual transportation company and its subcontractor, two mills and the tank-cleaning company. It is extremely important that the contracts between these companies are made explicit and that information flows between organisations. Special attention must be paid to the supervision of work and to responsibilities. 

Since one may not drive on the surface of the mineral layer, installation is still manually intensive work. Mostly, the members of the welding crew (foreman, welder, assistant, see Sect. 9.4.1) of the installation contractor obtain help from the construction workers of the earthwoik company who are being instructed and supervised by them. Furthermore, constantly present on site is an equipment driver of the constmction company and the third-party inspector. There are thus five to seven people who take part directly in the installation of the geomembranes. 

The precautions that can be taken to address these hazards include the use of authorized, trained, competent and supervised drivers only.
