Doxorubicin Phenytoin

Drugs that may affect zidovudine include acetaminophen, atovaquone, bone marrow suppressive/cytotoxic agents (eg, adriamycin, dapsone), clarithromycin, doxorubicin, fluconazole, ganciclovir, methadone, nelfinavir/ritonavir, phenytoin, probenecid, ribavirin, rifamycins, stavudine, trimethoprim, and valproic acid. 

Phenobarbital and other barbiturates1 Barbiturates, chloramphenicol, chlorpromazine, cortisol, coumarin anticoagulants, desmethylimipramine, digitoxin, doxorubicin, estradiol, phenylbutazone, phenytoin, quinine, testosterone... 

Morphine Sulfate Morphine sulfate precipitates in alkaline media and drugs that are incompatible with it, including aminophylline, sodium salts of barbiturates, and phenytoin. Precipitate was found after 2 horns when morphine sulfate was formulated with acyclovir sodium.70 Incompatibilities also are reported with chlorpromazine hydrochloride injections containing chlorocresol. Pethidine Hydrochloride Pethidine hydrochloride solutions are not compatible with barbiturates, aminophylline, morphine sulfate, sulfadiazine sodium, methicilline sodium, nitrofurantoin, phenytoin sodium, heparin sodium, sodium iodide, diethanolamine, sulfafurazol, acyclovir sodium, liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride, frusemide, imipenem, and idarubicin. Visual incompatibilities are reported with mixtures of pethidine hydrochloride and cefoperazone sodium or mezlocillin sodium, nafcillin sodium and minocycline hydrochloride or tetracycline hydrochloride in 5% glucose injection.82 83... 

Incompatibilities of metoclopramide depend on drug concentration, pH, and temperature. It is incompatible with cephalosporins, chloramphenicol, sodium bicarbonate, doxorubicin, cisplatin, and cyclophosphamide. Caution should be exercised with simultaneous administration of metoclopramide with lithium, sym-pathomimetics, antidepressants, bromocriptine, and carbamazepine. Omperazole interacts with tolbutamide, clarithromycin, and phenytoin. Coadministration of rantidine and cisapride increases the plasma concentration of rantidine. Abuse of senna laxative has been reported and may cause hepatitis.176-178... 

Increased effects (P450 3A4 inhibitors) cimetidine, danazol, diltiazem, erythromycin, troleandomycin, clarithromycin, fluoxetine, isoniazid, niacinamide, nicotinamide, propoxyphene, ketoconazole, itraconazole, verapamil,and valproate Decreased effects (P450 3A4 inducers) cisplatin, doxorubicin, felbamate, rifampin, phenobarbital, phenytoin, primidone, theophylline... 

When used concomitantly, other nephrotoxic drugs may potentiate the nephrotoxicity caused by streptozocin. Concomitant use with doxorubicin prolongs the elimination half-life of doxorubicin and requires a reduced dosage of doxorubicin. Concurrent use with phenytoin may decrease the effects of streptozocin on the pancreas.

A4 Barbiturates, carbamazepine, corticosteroids, efavirenz, phenytoin, rifampin, troglitazone Antiarrhythmics, antidepressants, azole antifungals, benzc iazepines, calcium channel blockers, cyclosporine, delavirdine, doxorubicin, efavirenz, erythromycin, estrogens, HIV protease inhibitors, nefazodone, paclitaxel, proton pump inhibitors, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, rifabutin, rifampin, sildenafil, SSRIs, tamoxifen, trazodone, vinca anticancer agents...

Carbamazepine levels are increased by CYP3A4 inhibitors (cimetidine, macrolides, diltiazem, fluoxetine, ketoconazole, verapamil, valproate) levels are decreased by CYP3A4 inducers (cisplatin, doxorubicin, felbamate, phenobarbital, phenytoin, primidone, rifampin, theophylline). Carbamazepine may increase levels of clomipramine, phenytoin, and primidone and lithium toxicity may decrease levels of phenytoin, warfarin, oral contraceptives, doxycycline, theophylline, haloperidol, alprazolam, clozapine, ethosuximide, and valproate may interfere with other anticonvulsants.
