A basie safety audit eovering design and system of work features to be eovered for the loading/ unloading of non-pressurized hazardous liquids to/from tankers of tank eontainers is given in Table 15.18. [Pg.484]

Designs and systems should minimize potential harmful exposures in both normal and emergency operations. This consideration affects the location of normal and emergency drains and vents. [Pg.100]

ENA was recently used for remote on-line corrosion monitoring of carbon steel electrodes in a test loop of a surge water tank at a gas storage field. An experimental design and system for remote ENA and collection of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) data (Fig. 13) have been presented elsewhere. In the gas storage field, noise measurements were compared with electrode weight loss measurements. Noise resistance (R ) was defined as... [Pg.230]

Despite the fact that much effort has been made to model the DMFC system, considerable work remains, particularly in support of the emerging portable designs and systems. Few have treated the dominating effects of two-phase flow. No model to date has sufficient detail to provide a microfluidic theory for portable systems including effects of channel geometry and wettability characteristics of the GDL on fluid flow in the anode or cathode. Modeling studies are needed to fully elucidate the intricate couplings of methanol, water, and heat-transport... [Pg.518]

Industrial Designs and Systems Thousands of different products are processed in spray dryers representing a wide range of feed and product properties as well as drying conditions. The flexibility of the spray drying concept, which is the main reason for this wide application, is described by the following systems. [Pg.1415]

Figure 6. Chip design and system setup for one-stage differential amplification. A DC voltage (Cl - F-) is applied to drive the particles from A to B. Trans-aperture voltage (Fdi and F02) modulation are sensed by the two gate branches to C and D, which are the positive and negative inputs of the differential amplifier, respectively. The resistances of the three sections in the main channel are denoted by Fi, R, R-i, respectively. Figure 6. Chip design and system setup for one-stage differential amplification. A mature design requires trade-offs between many conflicting factors, such as performance, manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability. These trade-offs depend heavily on experienced judgment and require continuous communication among experienced reviewers. The design review committee approach has been found to be extremely beneficial to this process. The committee adopts the system s point of view and considers aU conceivable phases of design and system use to ensure that the best trade-offs have been made for the particular situation. [Pg.1939]

It is a prominent practice, whether intended or not, to put the principal responsibility (not blame) for the incident on something the employee did or did not do—that is, to seek evidence of man failure. Some of the forms also asked that unsafe conditions be recorded. Sometimes, but seldom, they contain references to design and systems shortcomings. [Pg.204]

The enterprise updates requirements views and the functional, design, and system architeetures to reflect changes brought about by a customer, systems analysis, validation and verification deviation, or management decision. The updated requirements baseline or functional, physical, or system arehiteeture is used for continuing SEP activities. [Pg.62]
