Model system and paradigm for design

The objective of this task is to develop models of dependability assessment for alternative design paradigms. In particular reuse, and module evolution through versions, seem plausible candidates for achieving reliability. They may even allow more accurate evaluation of reliability by taking account of previous experience of use. Another concern is reliability assessment in fault tolerant architectures. Reliability of software iarchitectures can only be estimated in terms of what is known about the systems. We will investigate two aspects ... [Pg.227]

Real progress has been made in the last 10 years, providing pharmaceutical scientists with a solid basis for understanding the interaction of water with solids of pharmaceutical interest. Much of this progress has been the consequence of a paradigm shift the model of the solid as an inert substrate is almost never valid. Further characterization of the state of water in solid-water systems may ultimately provide a basis for the design of stable formulations and permit the establishment of performance-based specifications for pharmaceutical excipients. [Pg.2383]
