Design, specify and procure

Process analytics systems consist of the following components the sampling systems, the analyzer(s), automation, and a data management system. These components must be carefully selected and tested during the design phase because each part profoundly affects all others. When designing an analyzer system, the following considerations should be addressed  [Pg.25]

The impact of certain items on this fist (reliability, maintainability, compatibility and long-term cost of ownership) will be felt more profoundly after some time of operation but should be addressed in the design phase as well. [Pg.25]

During the design, specify and procure stage, preliminary process control and implementation plans are developed. These plans lay out the basic timing/milestones for each effort, as well as define the roles necessary to complete all the given tasks. It is expected... [Pg.23]

Petcoke can be quite hard and abrasive. In order to design and specify a grinder for this service, some bench-scale test grinding is necessary. EnerSol expects that this testing will be completed prior to the final design and procurement of a petcoke grinder. [Pg.170]

The accelerated heat pipe life test project was cancelled due to a shift in program direction with the selection of a gas cooled reactor concept to support nuclear electric propulsion. During execution of the project, a heat pipe design was established, a majority of the laboratory test equipment systems were specified, and operating and test procedures were developed. Procurements for the heat pipe units and all major test components were undenway at the time the stop work order was issued No technical Issues had been identified which would have prevented testing as planned. The final MSFC close-out report is provided in Reference 13-16... [Pg.815]

If you are procuring the services of a subcontractor to design and/or manufacture a product or service, you will need specifications which detail all the features and characteristics that the product or service is to exhibit. The reference number and issue status of the specifications need to be specified in the event that they change after placement of the purchase order. This is also a safeguard against the repetition of problems with... [Pg.326]

Note. All of the RDX component and portions of the TNT and wax are added as Composition B. A separate calcium chloride determination need only be 9one if required in the contract or order (See 6.2). Percentage requirement of Calcium Chloride is 0.5% 0.1% Calcium Silicate shall be determined as specified in 4.4.1.2 when used in the formulation of HBX compounds. The Calcium Silicate content shall be a minimum of 1.25 weight percent of the TNT content of the mixture and shall only be used in the HBX compositions when specified by the procuring agency (See 6.2). Calcium Silicate is designated for use only in Army formulations of HBX type explosive compositions. The major portion of the wax and all of the Nitrocellulose and lecithin are added as Composition D-2 ... [Pg.25]

The P IDs will identify the major equipment components to be modified or procured for the new process. It will outline the new equipment and associated controls required to run the process. The API manufacturer may have preferred suppliers of this equipment because of operability or maintenance issues. Most of the vessel and component suppliers in the industry are capable of supplying cGMP compliant equipment. The design firm or the API manufacturer will specify the equipment to include the necessary appurtenances to make the equipment cleanable. [Pg.143]

After approval of the design it needs to be implemented. Procurement of fabric (production) needs to take place. An industry capable of supporting the manufacture of the uniforms is also very important. Dyes with special properties are used during the printing process, and industry needs to be able to produce prints with the specified properties, to the required standards. Logistical supply of the quantities and sizes issued to the warehouses/stores needs to be considered as well. [Pg.91]

Fill Materials. Since the fill material is an additional fabrication material that becomes a part of the design construction, procurement documentation is required to specify a fill material type and thereby implement the via fill process. The selection and documentation of the fill material require the same consideration as the base laminate preference. This is especially critical when targeting a lead-free-compatible process. Currently, an industry-based material specification for via fill material does not exist. Therefore, specific fill-material brands may be named on the drawing, or some other form of user/supplier agreement must be established. The fabricator has preferences for the type of material used for via fill. Just as suppliers often have preferences for a specific solder mask brand, they also often prefer to use of a specific via fill material around which they have developed their principal processes. Supplier preferences can be driven by specific via fill material characteristics, such as accessibility, equipment compatibility, process supportability, plateability, and/or shelf/pot life. This may complicate source selection, or it might influence the use of a dedicated service center for the hole-fill process. The fabricator may not always know the reliability of its preferred material for a given via structure or end-use environment. [Pg.642]
