If a warehouse site is prone to exposure from one or more natural perils, design features may be incorporated which mitigate the hazards. Damage potential from earthquake, flood, lightning or windstorm/hurricane may thus be reduced or eliminated. The design and construction features discussed in this section can be applied to new, and in many cases, existing facilities. 

CFR 211.42 (3) states (design and construction features) requires in part, that aseptic processing operations be performed within specifically defined areas of adequate size. There shall be separate or defined areas for the firm s operations to prevent contamination or mix-ups. Aseptic processing operations must also include, as appropriate, an air supply filtered through high efficiency particulate air (HEPA filters) under positive pressure, as well as systems for monitoring environmental conditions. .. and maintaining any equipment used to control aseptic conditions. ... 

The above are the more obvious constructional, design and safety features for a switchgear or a controlgear assembly. For more details and additional requirements refer to lEC 60439-1 for LT, lEC 60298 and lEC 60694 for FIT and ANSI-C-37/20C, common for LT and FIT switchgear and controlgear assemblies. 

The detailed design and construction of instruments used in the various branches of spectrometry are very different and at first sight there may seem to be little in common between an X-ray fluorescence analyser and a flame photometer. On closer examination, however, certain common features emerge and parallels between the functions of the various parts of the different instruments are observed. A magazine is a unique structure with special features. Explosive contents are a threat to the magazine s vicinity, and the explosive contents themselves can face various threats. The threat factors led directly into design and construction criteria. The Department of Defense (DOD) uses standardized magazine designs which results in several benefits. 

Chemical reactors intended for use in different processes differ in size, geometry and design. Nevertheless, a number of common features allows to classify them in a systematic way [3], [4], [9]. Aspects such as, flow pattern of the reaction mixture, conditions of heat transfer in the reactor, mode of operation, variation in the process variables with time and constructional features, can be considered. This work deals with the classification according to the flow pattern of the reaction mixture, the conditions of heat transfer and the mode of operation. The main purpose is to show the utility of a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) both from the point of view of control design and the study of nonlinear phenomena. 

The process features of carbon dioxide triple-point crystallization and slurry absorption of carbon dioxide have been demonstrated with the first generation bench-scale apparatus. Current efforts are focused on the design and construction of an improved version of the carbon dioxide triple-point crystallizer in cooperation with the U S Department of Energy. Future efforts are planned to design and construct absorption units to study multi-stage slurry absorption of carbon dioxide, and the more conventional gas-liquid absorption of sulfuruous compounds with liquid carbon dioxide.
