Some in the industry use checklists, comparing the design against a set of questions or evaluation criteria. Checklists are ready most useful for small projects. Because it is not a systematic approach to safety, it is easy to miss something in large or complex processes.

Restart evaluations against the RIMP criteria consider the ability of human performance (staffing and training) and management systems (procedures, instructions, checklists, and administrative programs) to support the conclusions reached. The RRB will then review and approve each acceptance criterion. OPS-SAM-890009 Section 12.0 provides the instructions for developing and using the acceptance criteria. Generic acceptance criteria areto be used for many of the hardware checklist items to maximize the effectiveness of the ORR effort. A list of specific basic elements for each hardware checklist item will be developed for review against that related generic restart criteria.
