Conclusion and future scope

However, there are still problems in fulfilling their potential applications in nanoscale devices such as the reproducibility and or controllability of individual polymer, the stability of the doping level and the improving processability of CPs due to the complicated microstructures of conjugated polymers and graphene-based fillers. The studies are still desired on novel [Pg.270]

This review aims at giving an overview of the NMR applications in meat science. This may be an idealistic scope, as meat science is not a strictly delimited area. In studies of the conversion of muscle to meat, initialised early post mortem, the limits to in vivo muscle physiology are vague, and therefore the differentiation of which studies belong to which discipline is subjective, and consequently studies have been included where we found it natural. Overall, the review attempts to demonstrate and discuss the different NMR methodologies (relaxometry, imaging, spectroscopy) and their potential applications within meat science based on the existing literature. In the end, conclusions will be drawn, and future perspectives are considered. [Pg.159]

In conclusion, the scope of pol5uneric supports in heterogeneous metal catalysis has been steadily expanding in recent years and we expect that it will be even more so in the close future, with predictable scientific and technological breakthroughs. [Pg.209]

Finally in Chapter 8, all conclusions made during the research will be discussed in respect to the overall scope and research questions posed in this thesis. From this discussion general conclusions about the research performed in this thesis will be made. The research objective and research questions will be listed to check if the objective is achieved and if the questions can be answered completely and correctly. Finally, any additional questions arising from this research will suggest the scope of future research. [Pg.42]

US stock exchanges based on the probabilistic approach, requiring the report of only proved reserves they, nonetheless, also allow scope for some discretion. In conclusion, it can be said that, so far, there are no international requirements or standards in place regarding reserve classification and reporting, and the methodologies used for reserve estimates seem to vary according to their purpose as a result, reserve data are often referred to as political data . The consequences are inconsistency and controversy about the future supply of oil and gas. [Pg.56]

The scope of the tether-directed remote functionalization has been expanded from Cgo to the higher fullerene C70, and the described reactions are completely regioselective, featuring, in the case of C70, the kinetically disfavored addition pattern. The crown ether is a real template, since it can be readily removed by transesterification, giving a much-improved access to certain bis-adducts that are not accessible by the direct route. Cation-binding studies by CV reveal that cyclophane-type crown ethers derived from C60 and C70 form stable complexes with metal cations, and a perturbation of the fullerene reduction potentials occurs because the cation is tightly held close to the fullerene surface. This conclusion is of great importance for future developments of fullerene-based electrochemical ion sensors. [Pg.167]

In conclusion, chemical engineers have made essential contributions to polymer science and will certainly continue to do so in the future. As polymer science broadens in scope and permeates other fields as well, chemical engineers must recognize its interdisciplinary nature and be prepared to participate in this important technology in ever-evolving ways. [Pg.357]

These conclusions can only be tentative with the limited data here. However the potential scope for future studies of the kinetics of adsorption and partitioning of mixed sorbates is evident. This is of particular interest with microporous sorbents, such as carbons, especially where molecular size effects may be predominant. Such an aspect is indeed particularly relevant in gas separation processes which may involve membranes and pressure swing adsorption. [Pg.73]

Finally, an important conclusion that arises after discussing the literature on supramolecular polymers relates to the fact that these polymers are also interesting systems to be used by polymer theorists to verify a number of polymer theories. The thermodynamic nature of the supramolecular polymers enables the study of these systems without the kinetic constraints that are normally involved in the study of macromolecules. The future, however, will show the scope and limitations of this new field of supramolecular polymers. We foresee a bright future, and it is now clear that the status of supramolecular polymers has grown from scientific curiosities into systems with technological relevance. [Pg.330]

As a conclusion, examination of the present literature clearly indicates that, depending on the circumstances, any of the methods described in this review may be the best for the preparation of a given enantiopure epoxide. In particular, the recent progress achieved by using metal-catalyzed chemical processes obviously has to be taken into account. As far as biocatalytic methods are concerned, one can anticipate that, in the near future, lipases or, better, epoxide hydrolases, will prove to be the best choice, particularly as far as industrial applications are concerned. Research is ongoing in diverse laboratories to explore the scope and limitations of these very promising enzymes. [Pg.186]

A number of unexplained factors warrant mention. Orientation of elimination differs for secondary and tertiary structures. The peculiar predominance of cis- rather than /ra/ii-olefin may arise from the relative stabilities of the proton-olefin complexes. but a more certain conclusion would be possible if the stereochemistry of the dehydration in the acyclic series had been determined. Assumption of the anti stereospecificity known to be favoured by the cyclohexyl systems may be unsound especially in the light of the recent stereochemical findings in base-catalysed elimination reactions (Section 2..1.1(e)). The solution of the problem of the cis/trans ratios may lie in the duality of mechanism, namely the syn-clinallanti complexity. Certainly recent results on the dehydration of threo- and eo t/iro-2-methyl-4-deutero-3-pentanols on thoria show syn-clinal rather than anti stereospecificity as indicated by deuterium analysis of the cis- and /rn/iJ-4-methyl-2-pentenes, but in these cases the trans isomer was formed in a three-fold excess over the m-olefin . Of course, the dehydration reactions on the less acidic thoria may not be good models for alumina but a knowledge of stereochemistry in the acyclic series might prove an invaluable aid in the elucidation of the mechanism. There is obviously plenty of scope for future kinetic investigations which at the moment sadly lag behind preparative studies. [Pg.289]
