Competitive situation

There is no competitive situation for data storage disks with embossed iaformation (CD-ROM) and recordable/nonerasable disks (WORM) no counterpart to CD-ROM and WORM exists among magnetic memories. EOD drives are best compared to floppies and removable hard disk media given their possibiUty of easy and problem-free disk exchange and a capacity on the order of that of removable magnetic media (Tape, Bernoulli, SyQuest). 

Economics and price of the final article often dictate a specific type of mbber that can be used. The expected usable life for the product is controlled by many factors including end customer awareness, competitive situation in the marketplace, safety, reUabiUty, and other factors. Rubber is almost always used as a functional part of another system. For example tires, hoses, belts, O-rings, and numerous mbber components are used in manufacturing automobiles and tmcks. The overall life of the vehicle as well as its performance level often control or direcdy relate to the service life or quaUty level of the mbber parts. 

Although no longer of significant commercial interest, the characteristics of some of the amorphous homopolymers commercially available at one time or another are illustrated in Table 4. In 1995 (LC) and 1996 (JH, CL JW), students carried out projects as part of their Field Course training that, although not initiated for the purpose, allowed a unique analysis to be carried out when retrospectively linked to the public knowledge over sexual liaisons. This analysis was of the characteristics of people who, in this brief and competitive situation, did and did not copulate (or nearly copulate).
