Figure 4.10. At the top the raw data for dry residue for 63 successive batches is shown in a standard control chart format. The fact that as of batch 34 (arrow ) a different composition was manufactured can barely be discerned, see the horizontals that indicate the means DRi 33 resp. DR34 g3- A hypothesis that a change occurred as of batch 37 would find support, though. Cusum charts for base period 1. .. 63 resp. base period 1. .. 37 make the change fairly obvious, but the causative event cannot be pinpointed without further information. Starting with batch 55 (second arrow ), production switched back to the old composition. Figure 4.10. The program must require the vendors to measure a number of reference samples and/or duplicates submitted in a planned sequence. It should require prompt measurement and reporting of these data and should maintain the results in a control chart format. Prompt feedback and follow-up of any apparent data discrepancies and reconciliation of the results with control charts maintained by the vendors are required to minimize the length of uncertain performance. The quality assurance plan should include random sampling of the vendors data for their validity and conformance with quality assurance requirements. If quality assurance is properly practiced at all levels, an inspection of 5 percent of the total data output should be adequate. [Pg.106]

The bullet format is also a very efficient technique because it, like the chart format, does not require complete sentences. In using this format, you essentially provide a list to answer the question. A is a bullet, and each new concept receives one. Try to add your bullets in a logical sequence, and leave room to add more bullets. You may want to come back later and fill them in. Don t get discouraged if you do not have as many bullets as the samples contain — it takes practice. Reviewing the key terms at the beginning of each chapter may suggest additional points that you can incorporate. [Pg.28]

Here s another question where the chart format is appropriate. [Pg.97]

This problem is best done in the chart format. Note how the column headings record what is given and how the first entries in the rows serve as a restatement of what is wanted. [Pg.107]

This question is probably best answered in the outline format, because you will try to show a logical progression of concepts leading to two overall conclusions. Using the chart format would become too complicated. This question should take about ten minutes to answer. [Pg.121]

This question lends itself to the chart format. Here the column headings express what is given, and the first entry in each row serves as a restatement of what is wanted. [Pg.131]

A complete visual representation of the manufacturing process in flow chart format should be included. This flow chart should indicate the step in the process, the equipment and materials used, and the room where the operation is performed, and should provide a complete list of the in-process controls and tests performed on the product at each step. The diagram should also include information, including a descriptive narrative, on the methods used to transfer the product between steps (i.e., sterile, SIP connection, sanitary connection, open transfers under laminar flow units, etc.). [Pg.171]

Discrete data point, extracted irom the log file, can be viewed. The data can also be viewed in tabular form and as a size distribution curve. Data can also be integrated over any selected range. A Statistical Process Control (SPC) option enables the file data to be viewed in standard control chart format either as an X or R chart. [Pg.571]

Malvern (Insitec) ECPS2 is designed to monitor and control particle size distributions from 0.5 to 1,500 pm, at concentrations up to 10,000 ppm, directly in pneumatic powder flow streams. Up to one thousand size distribution measurements per second are carried out at flow velocities from static to ultrasonic. Discrete data point, extracted from the log file, can be viewed. The data can also be viewed in tabular form and as a size distribution curve. Data can also be integrated over any selected range. A Statistical Process Control (SPC) option enables the file data to be viewed in standard control chart format either as an X or R chart. Chart formatting is accomplished by using commands in the Chart menu in the Chart Menu Bar, or by using the Format command in the Edit menu in the Chart Menu Bar. [Pg.50]

If you created a chart as an XY Scatter plot, for example, you can change it to another chart format by choosing Chart Type... from the Chart menu, then choosing any of the other chart types. Fifteen standard types, as well as a number of more specialized custom types, such as a combination Line-Column chart, are available. [Pg.51]

Excel 2000 uses the column chart type as the default chart format, but you can change the default to any of the other built-in chart formats (most likely you d want the XY chart type to be the default). You can also set your own chart format as the default, and thus convert the Chart Wizard from a four-step wizard to a one-step wizard, so that by simply pressing the Chart Wizard s Finish button in the Chart Wizard Step 1 of 4 dialog box, you can go directly to the completed chart. [Pg.121]

Use the procedure in the following box to define a custom chart format and make that the default format. The new chart format will remain in effect through all subsequent sessions of Excel. [Pg.121]

You can add any number of different chart formats to the list of user-defined formats and convert a chart from one format to another. [Pg.121]

To Make a Custom Chart Format the Default Chart Format... [Pg.122]

To add the selected chart s format to the list and make it the default chart format for all subsequent charts, press the Set As Default Chart button. In either case you ll be asked to give a name to the new custom chart type. [Pg.122]

The procedure for deleting unwanted chart formats is shown in the box below. [Pg.122]

The creation of a master plan permits the development of a logical overview of the validation effort. It lays out in a logical sequence the activities or key elements or both to be performed in accordance with the approximate time schedule in a Gantt or PERT chart format. The master plan establishes the critical path through the chart against which progress can be monitored. [Pg.3930]
